What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assemble and organize data for input into the system
- Type or key information into the system using a computer work station
- File materials by alphabetical or numerical sequence
- Answer inquiries in person or over the telephone regarding recorded data
- Assist in the training of new clerks
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Eighteen (18) months of education and clerical experience, including operation of data-entry equipment
- Completion of a three (3) semester-hour post-high school or college-level data entry and/or computer operations-related course may substitute for six months of required experience
- Must be able to type 20 correct words per minute
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in data entry or clerical roles
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
- Knowledge of filing procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong mathematical skills
