Job Description

- Work with the business users, partners, technical architects, and program managers to define the data migration requirements and structure for the application.
- Lead the data migration plan, analysis, design, and build effort.
- Work with the business users, partners, and technical architects to understand the data conversion requirements fully and to design the conversion procedures and applications.
- Review the database deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and traceability to requirements and adherence to all quality management plans and standards.
- Ensure that the application developers and data migration developers responsible for data migration thoroughly understand the requirements and designs.
- Work with other architects to ensure that all components work together to meet objectives and performance goals as defined in the requirements. Identify and communicate any cross-area or cross-release issues that may affect other areas of the project.
- Support the development and test teams with the creation of test data. Ensure test data conforms to data security requirements.
- Ensure security in reporting and data warehousing.
- Take ownership of design, development and testing of all data extract, transform and load (ETL) activities
- Working with the project team to ensure that all ongoing data transformation, de-duplication, extraction and load functions once ready for production deployment are documented in detailed data lineage models
- Work with data owners to verify and obtain approval that any transformed data retains its quality/accuracy
- Own the reject and exception handling processes associated with data
- Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities.
- Prepare data migration plans including migration risk, milestones, quality and business sign-off details.
- Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.
- Strong technical database and data migration (ETL) skills
- 5+ years of experience working with large scale, data processing systems in a Data/Data Warehouse environment.
- Good understanding of Source to Target mapping between Dynamics 365 applications such as Finance and Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Insights – Journey, and legacy applications Salesforce, Oracle EBS etc.
- Understanding of Dynamics data structurers
- Ability to develop or revise the data migration approach as new data requirements arise
- Ability to develop and manage all aspects of the data migration effort, including the plans, interdependencies, schedule, tools, and required personnel.
- Ability to convert data and related techniques to acquire data needed to support testing, training, and other application development activities
