- Schedule: Full Time Monday - Friday 8-5pm CT
- Location: Remote
- Salary: $17.37 - $23.50 Hourly
- Assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of predictive models and machine learning algorithms (e.g., classification, regression, time series forecasting).
- Clean, transform, and wrangle large-scale, heterogeneous datasets.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, anomalies, and insights relevant to healthcare operations and clinical quality.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production environments for real-time or near real-time use.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and results clearly and effectively for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present findings and recommendations to the ADSI team and internal/external stakeholders.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Industrial Organizational Psychology or a related discipline,
- Strong foundational knowledge of statistical analysis, probability, and machine learning concepts.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language for data analysis (e.g., Python or R).
- Experience with common data science libraries (e.g., Python: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
- Previous experience working with large-scale data or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark).
- Experience working with healthcare data (e.g., EHR data, claims data, medical imaging) is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools.
- A strong interest in contributing to the improvement of patient care and healthcare systems.
- High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Job Summary
The Data Science Intern will work closely with experienced data scientists, clinicians, and business stakeholders within the ADSI, specifically in the Throughput, Access and Labor Management section of ADSI. This role provides a unique opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world healthcare challenges. The intern will be involved in the full lifecycle of data science projects, including data acquisition, cleaning, exploration, model development, validation, and deployment.
This internship is designed to be a challenging and rewarding experience, offering exposure to massive, complex datasets and the ethical considerations unique to health data.
