      The Payments domain in CBA brings together the process, people and technology assets supporting real-time, bulk electronic, cheques, high value and international payments processing for the Bank. The team have the monumental task of ensuring that 40% of the Australian economy are able to transact over $90 billion a day using the Bank’s services in a reliable manner. With the payments technology systems being at the heart of the Bank, almost every customer-facing channel relies on payments services in one way or another.

      We are currently looking for a Crew Lead for the Data Services platforms in Payments. As a Crew Lead, you will work closely with the business to deliver exceptional outcomes for our business stakeholders and customers. The Data Services Crew in Payments has stewardship over the Bank’s payments data to support development of new customer propositions and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations. You are responsible to build and lead the world-class data delivery capability across critical payments data platforms and highly visible change initiatives.

      As a Crew Lead for our Data Services crew, you will lead the end-to-end ownership defining the crew’s technology roadmap, managing the core technology assets, unlock and facilitate delivery through effective conflict management, risk & financial management as well as determine optimal tech capability mix across Crews.

      You will provide expert, strategic leadership to the crew.

      Key Responsibilities

      The Data Services Crew Lead is an Executive Manager level role and will report into the Executive General Manager Payments. You will work intimately with business leaders and other crew leads.

      In this role, you will:

      • Shape the Crew purpose in line with the customer goal, and translate this into squad composition, purpose, backlog and goal.

      • Manage the end-to-end value chain from a performance, customer experience, operational risk, compliance, regulatory, cost and revenue perspective.

      • Drive the overall application lifecycle decisions, including build, scale, decommissioning, resilience and technology simplification.

      • Address impediments, drive decisions and resolve escalations.

      • Lead the co-ordination with channels and functions including finance to ensure Crew products meet the stated functional and quality requirements.

      • Drive consistency of performance across squads.

      • Deliver outcomes safely by considering and mitigating material risk and obligation factors that could arise.

      • Identify and share lessons learnt, promoting an environment of continuous improvement.

      • Create transparency across crews and within squads, translating goals into squad objectives.

      • Take ownership of the product profit and loss statement, customer experiences and the overall performance outcomes of the product.

      • Monitor business performance results across financial, business and customer experience measures, implementing modifications in product features and pricing to improve results.
