      The Opportunity:


      • Maintain Oracle databases running on the Linux operating system to provide optimal performance and maximal availability.
      • Provide data mining support to the agency's Intelligence and Operations units and provide case documentation to federal agents and attorneys as evidence in court prosecutions.
      • Maintain existing database as well as installing and configuring new database instances both locally and remotely.
      • Work closely with C++ developers to provide new functionality to the customer's primary mission system.


      Responsibilities:


      • General administration of Oracle database servers in a Linux environment.
      • Daily monitoring of production database servers for proper operation and performance.
      • Ensure all databases comply with Department of Homeland Security database security standards The maintenance of data replication of databases.
      • Oracle SQL*Loader application development for data ingestion from the Federal Aviation Administration and other agencies.
      • Maintain documentation of the database design, maintenance procedures and checklists.
      • Perform disaster recovery using database backups.
      • Perform data mining and queries for the customer's Intelligence group.
      • Provide case documentation to federal agents and attorneys as evidence in court prosecution.
      • Create new database instances, locally and remotely, by installing the Oracle software and restoring from backups.
      • Other duties as assigned.
      • This position is not available for remote work.
      • MUST be willing to relocate to the Inland Empire, CA area or Colorado Springs, CO area.


      Qualifications:

      Required:

      • Have an MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline OR Have 10 years verifiable experience in database administration WITH a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline.
      • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
      • Must possess or be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Customs & Border Protection Background Investigation.
      • Have 8 years of Oracle Database Administration experience in the Linux environment.

      • Have experience with replicating databases.
      • Have strong skills with the SQL language Have excellent written and oral communications skills in English.
      • Have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
      • Be available for travel, both domestic and foreign.
      • Be available after hours for emergency support.
      • Be skilled in the Linux command line environment.
      • Thorough understanding of relational data modeling and data integrity, replication of databases, backup and recovery procedures, and database security.
      • Must have the ability to adapt quickly and work in an environment in which requirements can changes quickly with little to no lead time.
      • Be able to adapt quickly to changing requirements .

      Desired:

      • Active and current SECRET level security clearance or higher.

      The proposed salary range for this position is:

      $82,100-$172,400
