      The Distribution Center Clerk role at a quick glance:

      • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Prepares shipments by ensuring completion and accuracy
      • Consolidates orders from the Storage & Retrieval area
      • Uses SAP Telnet to confirm and pack orders
      • Compares packing list with product label (as opposed to picking ticket itself).
      • Counts items to ensure the correct amount is shipped
      • Packs boxes correctly to ensure the product is not damaged in transit
      • Assists with loading trucks or trailers using forklift or pallet jack.
      • Visually checks the product for defects
      • Notifies manager or lead person of discrepancies
      • Visually checks packing list for special customer requirements (packing, labeling, etc.)
      • Operates forklift to move merchandise to be shipped
      • Weighs merchandise and completes bill of lading and packing list
      • Stocks workstation periodically to ensure correct boxes and packing materials are available
      • Assists Shipping Manager and Lead to ensure timely and accurate processing of all orders
      • Keeps work area cleaned and well organized.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
      High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      LANGUAGE SKILLS
      Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
      Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
      REASONING ABILITY
      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

      COMMENTS
      The employee may be required to undergo forklift operator certification training provided by the company. Familiarity with use of electronic weighing device helpful.
