- The main purpose of the role is to maintain DCS, ICSS, and SCADA equipment safely and competently within statutory health and safety procedures. This is crucial to ensure offshore production processes continue seamlessly, reducing production disruptions and upholding safety protocols.
- Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s Life Saving Rules.
- Live our Petrofac Values and apply them in day-to-day work. Participation in the annual performance review process, completing meaningful scorecards through SMART objectives and completing reviews in line with the company driven timeframe.
- Maintaining the condition of DCS, ICSS, SCADA equipment & software
- Monitoring physical condition of DCS, ICSS and SCADA equipment
- Control access to DCS, ICSS, SCADA equipment
- Safeguard the availability and operating condition so that production targets are achieved.
- Ensure DCS, ICSS, SCADA equipment is maintained for maximum reliability and availability
- Implement the planned maintenance schedule and maintain accurate records.
- Diagnose faults and recover system integrity to ensure maximum equipment availability.
- Install and commission new equipment as directed.
- Maintain comprehensive handover logs.
- Assist other trades and disciplines within limits of experience and capability
- Perform in an emergency role as defined by the company's emergency response procedures.
- Operate as part of an integrated maintenance team and undertake maintenance to minimize production disruptions.
- Ensure stock of ready use instrument spares are maintained and highlight any new items which are required to maintain critical spares stock.
- Seek to improve maintenance performance by the application of appropriate tactics, RCM, skills and experience
- The DCS Specialist is financially accountable for maintaining DCS, ICSS, SCADA equipment and records to ensure compliance with the required standards, thereby safeguarding accurate allocation of resources and supporting production targets.
- The DCS Specialist is tasked with diagnosing and rectifying DCS, ICSS, SCADA faults efficiently to ensure maximum equipment availability, employing proactive problem-solving skills to minimize disruptions in offshore production.
- A recognized apprenticeship or training scheme.
- A minimum City & Guilds or equivalent
- Comp Ex (EX01 – EX04).
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to Safe Working Practices
- Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
- Ability to provide guidance and motivation to co-workers.
- Good PC literacy and familiar with MS Office suite
- Team player
- Experience in maintenance activities, preferably with experience of multi-skilling.
- Experience with SAP or other CMMS systems is beneficial.
