What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Negotiate and collect payments on delinquent retail, consumer, residential, or auto accounts to reduce losses
- Conduct detailed investigative work to locate missing borrowers using skip tracing and other techniques
- Communicate complex information clearly while handling sensitive data
- Suggest modifications to policies and procedures based on daily observations and activities
- Serve as the entry point for the identification and documentation of all pertinent collection support processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in debt collection or a similar field
- Strong phone skills to effectively engage with customers
- Proven negotiation skills with a record of positive outcomes
- Proficiency in documenting calls and a solid understanding of consumer loan products
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a customer-facing role within the banking or financial services industry
- Familiarity with collection software or tools
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong sales skills with a focus on maintaining a positive company image
- Knowledge of banking policies and procedures related to collections
