What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support to department staff in day-to-day operations in accordance with employer policies and procedures
- Prepare various reports, surveys, and special projects as requested by management utilizing decision support and financial systems
- Offer analytical and technical support regarding cost accounting analysis, budgeting analysis, clinical utilization analysis, and financial planning analysis
- Conduct financial decision support projects in collaboration with clinical and administrative staff
- Utilize the decision support system to execute financial planning tasks effectively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; experience in Decision Support may substitute for education
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, managed care, or accounting
- Working knowledge of at least one Decision Support application (e.g., budgeting, cost accounting, clinical resource management)
- Proficient in financial software, financial analysis, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with a variety of healthcare and finance professionals
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Healthcare-related finance background is preferred
- Experience with spreadsheets, databases, and finance-related software programs
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix work environment
- Experience in developing and evaluating complex financial data using computer analysis
