- Identifies conditions and applies appropriate technique and chemistry to properly clean various types of floor coverings including but not limited to carpet, upholstery, sheet vinyl, vct, marmoleum, wood, engineered flooring, concrete, etc.
- In partnership with the EVS Manager, develops and maintains a cleaning and maintenance
- Uses appropriate PPE at all times
- Establishes a safe work area using job specific safety equipment tools i.e. barricades, caution tape, wet floor signs, etc. at all time
- Properly cares for equipment inventory and maintains maintenance records on all tools hand and/or powered.
- Provides quality customer service to the members at all times.
- Inside windows
- Window screens
- Clean HVAC unit
- Replace HVAC unit filter
- Pull out refrigerator, clean coils, and behind refrigerator
- Clean underneath and on top of kitchen and bathroom cabinets (where space is available)
- Pull out stove, and clean behind stove
- Kitchen vents
- Bathroom vents
- Replace all batteries to smoke detectors
- Kitchen fluorescent light fixtures covers
- Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellence customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn.
- General knowledge of housekeeping skills.
- General knowledge of how to operate any equipment needed to perform tasks.
- Knowledge of vacuum cleaner operation and maintenance.
- Possess skills in organization, appearance and demeanor.
- Work alone and as a member of a team, able to plan own work activities and work with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Knowledge of Hazard of Communication program.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to operate maintenance and power equipment; good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents or other staff of the organization.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to use equipment required for tasks; understands chemical interactions.
- Ability to make quick, clear judgments based on facts and communicates issues with sensitivity to different communication styles and personalities.
- Ability to handle high level of activity and multiple priorities in calm manner with common sense and independent action.
- Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
- Able to work overtime, weekends, holidays as needed.
- Ability to follow directions and complete forms & inventories and keep records.
- Ability to identify task requirements, monitor progress toward accomplishment and meet deadlines for completion of projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to systematically identify and define problems, evaluates alternatives, and implements cost effective solutions.
- Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations, or in situations in which working speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of the job; to be subject to danger, risk, or tension as a regular, consistent part of the job.
- General cleaning equipment: various brand of carpet\upholstery extractors, side by side floor scrubber\polisher, auto-scrubbers vacuum cleaner.
- Various hand tools associated with the task – floor scrappers, doodle bug, floor squeegee, mops, and wax applicators of various types.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Pull, carry 10 lbs and push 40 lbs.
- Requires two-hand dexterity
- Ability to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Ability to lift objects while vacuuming underneath
- Continuously bending and stooping, standing, walking
