      An opportunity has arisen for a new Manager to join our Health Economics & Social Policy team within on a full-time basis. The role will be based out of our Sydney office, but we are open to candidates from across Australia.

      What will your typical day look like?

      You will work on a range of exciting, thought-provoking and high-profile projects across a range of areas including family violence, health and life sciences, aged care, disability and justice. The types of projects you will work on include: program and policy design and evaluation; funding model reviews; social impact measurement; business cases; and burden of disease studies.

      Day to day, you will:

      • Manage economics and public policy projects in the health and human services sector by working closely with clients, with the support of other Deloitte team members
      • Guide and undertake quantitative data methods and analysis including statistical analysis and data visualisation, as well as economic analysis (e.g. cost benefit/cost effectiveness analysis)
      • Guide and undertake qualitative data methods and analysis (e.g. literature reviews, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and workshops)
      • Draft and communicate findings in reports and compelling presentations
      • Coach and mentor analysts and senior analysts to support the delivery of engagements and play a key role in their development.

      Your clients will include: government departments; non-profit organisations and funders and providers of services. Clients will be based across Australia and globally in some cases. You will be adaptable and flexible in working across a variety of settings and clients.

      Enough about us, let’s talk about you !

      We’re looking for motivated and engaged individual with a passion to make an impact in health and/or social policy. You will ideally have 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas Education, Housing and Homelessness, Disability/NDIS, Family and Youth, Indigenous, or Health as a consultant/advisor to the public sector. Specifically, you will have:

      • A minimum of five years’ experience in the health and/or social policy sector, as one or more of: economist; policy analyst/advisor; researcher or evaluator; or similar
      • A degree in economics, evaluation, psychology, statistics, public policy, public health or other social science with strong academic results
      • Previous experience in a consulting environment; and/or the public sector; and/or a health or social service delivery organisation
      • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian system of government and/or service delivery systems (particularly health and human services)
      • Applied knowledge of mixed method approaches to synthesise different types of data, including developing and using quantitative analytical frameworks using economic principles
      • Demonstrated passion for making an impact in the health and social services sector
      • Persuasive communication and report writing skills
      • Managing projects and teams effectively, as well as engaging with stakeholders
      • Demonstrated y experience in project management and managing small teams
      • Ideally experience with one or more of the following tools: R; Stata; SQL; Tableau: PowerBI; or similar
