      Job Description

      The Design Advocate works with customer Kitchen Designers and Sales Pros to provide expert support, training, and consultation in the kitchen design process. Their primary goal is to enhance the designers' proficiency with our product lines and the design processes, increasing brand loyalty and preference among our partners.

      The role will provide on-demand support to Kitchen Designers and Pros via phone, email, and video conferencing. They will assist with complex designs, offering creative solutions and workarounds when needed.

      The individual will also develop and deliver training programs for Kitchen Designers, OSRs, and Pro Sales that covers product knowledge, design techniques, and software usage

      The role requires extensive design expertise and a comprehensive knowledge of all Cabinetworks product lines, including specifications, design options, and unique features.

      PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Act as a design expert and coach, articulating product specifications, features, and benefits, making recommendations based on customer needs, and providing guidance on technical kitchen design, including 2020 design support.

      • Evaluate submitted kitchen designs/layouts for accuracy to avoid costly errors, delivering a complete design review packet to the designer with required changes and recommended improvements.

      • Communicate with designers via chat, email, and phone, building the relationship through high levels of service. Responsible for listening for themes and understanding trigger statements.

      • Advocate for the designer’s success by anticipating challenges, removing barriers, setting expectations, and resolving issues using your problem-solving skills and connecting with other internal stakeholders.

      • Build trusted relationships with designers through proactive and reactive touch points and support.

      • Create full designs to assist with designer capacity.

      • Deliver an exceptional end-to-end communication experience, focusing on accuracy and being responsive to multiple inquiries simultaneously.

      • Assist with virtual trainings.

      ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

      • Minimum of 5 years experience in kitchen design or related industry

      • Any combination of education and experience will be considered

      • Expert knowledge of kitchen design principles, cabinet construction, and materials

      • Proficiency with popular kitchen design software

      • Excellent communication and presentation skills

      • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

      • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders

      • Willingness to travel occasionally for training events or trade shows

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

      • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture

      • National Kitchen & Bath Association Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) credentials

      • Retail kitchen design experience

      • Experience with Framed and Frameless cabinet design

      • Experience in facilitating training sessions or classes – in person or virtual

      • Customer service experience
