      Purpose and Objective:
      SuccessFactors, Inc. seeks a Development Expert at our Reston, VA location to be responsible for development focusing on concept, design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team or responsible for complex product areas.

      Expectations and Tasks:
      Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and support others in resolving complex issues. Define deliverables and provide advice and recommendations on solutions that may affect future design decisions. Show technical, business and/or methodological leadership. Improve work methods and engineering skills in the team and beyond to establish state-of-theart agile software engineering practices. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Act as an SME of product and technical knowledge as well as knowledge of industry trends. Promote and support Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Act as a 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Team's progress

      Education and Occupational Experience:
      Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

      Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
      Experience must involve five (5) years in the following:
      • Programming languages - Java, Scala, SQL, Python, PHP and shell script;
      • Observability/APM tools -Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Dynatrace and native tools – sar and perf;
      • Debugging and Profiling tools -JProfiler/Visual VM, TDA, MAT and Native profiling using profile, strace and bpftrace;
      • Performance monitoring and result analysis using tools -Load Runner, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, Grinder, httpwatch, Dynatrace Ajax and Lighthouse;
      • Network monitoring tools - Wireshark , SolarWinds, netlink, netstats and OS internal tools (proc, sys), tracepoints, kprobes and uprobes;
      • Oracle/HANA DB SQL Performance Optimization, Workload Management, Database tuning and Management; and
      • JVM Internals and Memory Management, GC Policies and Optimization

      Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $173,763 - $229,682. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $173,763 - $280,100. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
