      Job Description

      THE ROLE: Development Producer

      The Development Producer for A+E Factual Studios is a creative, collaborative thinker and producer who is excited to develop for the unscripted television marketplace. This role is for someone who can think big to creatively brainstorm and develop ideas for series, specials, and documentaries across all genres, but also roll up their sleeves to creatively and tactically bring projects to life.

      MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:

      Development Producer, A+E Factual Studios:

      • Generate creative ideas for new development concepts for our wide array of potential buyers, both internally and externally

      • Brainstorm, pitch, research and write materials for those development concepts, including one-pagers, decks, and longer form series treatments/bibles.

      • Oversee edits of sizzle tapes for projects on your slate

      • Oversee shoots for both unpaid and paid development when necessary

      • Seek out new talent for potential concepts

      • Be a self-starter who can take direction, working both independently and collaboratively as necessary, communicating regularly and effectively development team

      • Stay up-to-date on trends in pop culture and players in the competitive entertainment landscape

      • Work with casting producers/directors as needed, providing direction and guidance

      • Collaborate with production partners and talent, gathering their feedback and executing their notes

      YOUR STORY:

      • BA/BS Degree.

      • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in unscripted/documentary television development and production.

      • Experience working on an unscripted/documentary television show is a plus.

      • Must be a skilled writer, who can work quickly under a deadline.

      • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

      • Candidate must have the ability to take direction from more than one individual, work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

      • Must have experience overseeing an editor, working on sizzles, rip reels and development presentations

      • Must be able to work well in a team environment and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and suppliers.

      • Ability to manage, give direction to and prioritize for a team.

      • Experience working with talent agents/agencies a plus

      • Passion for TV and pop culture.

      • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a small team

      Compensation

      Annual Pay Range: $69,405 - $91,725

      Annual Incentive Target: 7.50%


      The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

      minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

      be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,

      competencies, location, and experience. A+E offers a competitive total compensation
