What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with software engineers to build, maintain, and automate application testing and deployment processes
- Translate engineering team requirements into application/system configurations using established designs
- Write scripts and utilize infrastructure tools and AWS services for automation and operational support
- Perform after-hours system maintenance and on-call troubleshooting as needed
- Monitor system vulnerabilities and install necessary patches to ensure security
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or master’s degree in the same fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- System administration experience or prior experience in DevOps
- Knowledge of database administration and networking
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Familiarity with key concepts of Infrastructure as Code (Programmable Infrastructure)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, and Linux
- Familiarity with database management systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
- Experience with Agile Software Engineering
- Knowledge of containerization technologies
- Understanding of security and compliance best practices
