- Assure alignment of digital activities and content with strategic and narrative guidance
- Be responsible for growth and execution across our digital platforms through a combination of execution and team delegation
- Create and resource effective ladders of engagement that grow the number of people who share our worldview and expand the base of people connected to our network affiliates and national network
- Managing list-building paid digital program.
- Working with campaigns on their programs.
- What To Do This Week email program
- Social media responsibilities (support role, manages multimedia campaigner)
- Data analysis and reporting monthly
- Provide clear guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
- Drive the team in fast-paced digital engagement in a news-cycle-relevant way
- Work with the team to ensure the timely creation and dissemination of content to support campaign goals.
- Ensure strong project management for regular production of multimedia content that makes our vision, or work, and long-term agenda accessible and inviting while also utilizing our distinct visual brand in all multimedia materials
- Ensure that our network communicators are supported with template materials and training/advice in implementing their own digital programs.
- Monitor cohort Slack for support requests and look for opportunities to share helpful material through this channel.
- Attend and contribute to cohort meetings.

- At least 5 years experience in digital strategy development in a progressive organizing, non-profit, or advocacy environment in a community/grassroots organizing, base-building organization.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in a progressive, grassroots, or community organization communications team, directly responsible for managing a high-performing set of direct reports.
- Experience leading a fast-paced and effective digital program for a progressive organizing and/or advocacy organization or campaign.
- Strong experience building a consistent online presence across digital media channels.
- Strong experience in educating, engaging, and mobilizing key stakeholders on big ideas using creative approaches
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including relevant project management experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to organize others to move toward a shared vision or goal.
- Ability to learn and pick up new programs/processes quickly with light training
- Knowledge of legal constraints of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofits.
- Commitment to social justice and experience with social change organizing.
- Strong commitment to racial, gender, and economic justice and their intersections, both inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to work with diverse people and organizations
- Experience with online digital advertising platforms
- Experience specifically with New Mode and Action Network

Overview of the Position
The primary function of the Digital Director is to develop, manage, and implement a comprehensive digital communications strategy focused on achieving our organizational mission and our long-term agenda. The Digital Director will also be an essential part of our plan to wage the battle of big ideas, moving our core narratives in the public arena with our target audiences through high-quality digital content.
As Digital Director, your typical day will include (but isn’t limited to):
Developing, managing, and implementing a comprehensive digital communications strategy focused on achieving our organizational mission and our long-term agenda:
Creating and curating supporter journeys (petitions, emails, website)
Supervising and Mentoring Direct Reports
Supporting Communications Cohort
