      Digital Trading Executive - Household Electricals (Health & Beauty)

      As the Digital Trading Executive, you will manage the day to day trading of your category online. You will be responsible for best in class Digital Merchandising across the platform, putting actions in place to ensure all commercial objectives are achieved. Engaging closely with your commercial colleagues and marketing teams you are responsible for planning an optimal customer journey from a category perspective, ensuring that customers are fully able to browse/shop across our channels and the find the right products/information that they require to aid conversion and overall sales.

      What you need to do:

      • You will drive successful commercial results by tracking daily the key metrics for the website, looking at run rates for Visits/ Sales/ Conversion/ Search Trends/ Participation, and create actions to improve these. You will use insight and analysis to drive through new initiatives which focus on the customer.
      • Collaborate and build a successful cross functional network with internal and external stakeholders.
      • You will need to provide Weekly Sales Reporting to the Digital Trading Leads on the performance of your category, as well as plans for the coming week.
      • Be responsible for best-in-class web merchandising, through effective planning, briefing & review of campaigns, ensuring other digital teams have necessary information in a timely manner.
      • Work collaboratively with the Digital Trading Lead to understand the Digital Trading Strategy for the coming year. Create category plans to align with the trading strategy and contribute to its success.
      • Ensure you have daily communications with the Commercial teams on short term goals, and weekly planning meetings to ensure future activity is still on track, and feed relevant information into the Design & Content teams
      • Completing regular competitor reviews and creating and implementing action plans to ensure our customer journey is optimal, and best in class.
      • Working closely with Digital Trading Executives across Argos / Sainsburys to ensure best-practise category examples are captured and shared across the business.
      • Create category plans to align with the trading strategy and contribute to its success.
      • Working with the Digital Trading Lead and using helpful frameworks, identify customer problems or opportunities and solve these through website merchandising and/or customer acquisition activities or initiatives. Using a number of tools to deepen understanding of customer behaviour e.g. Adobe, Similarweb, Glassbox, Conductor, becoming an expert with these tools
      • Support Digital Trading Lead by building relationships with brands and liaising with Nectar360 to build plans and drive further revenue.
      • Deputise for Digital Trading Leads at relevant meetings when required
      • As required there will be visits to supplier offices to collaborate and build relationships.

      What you need to know and show:

      • You will have the ability to demonstrate a clear customer focus & understanding in all aspects of your role.
      • You will have a strong sense of the market in which we operate; a good holistic understanding of the Digital landscape and wider retail environment.
      • You have good communication skills, able to articulate well to all levels of the business, ensuring stakeholders are kept up to date with all relevant data, updates and insights.
      • As well as producing data and insights, you will also be familiar with interpreting this and presenting back to key stakeholders to help influence category plans and enhance our customers experience.
      • You will be capable of influencing to a senior level across the wider Digital and Marketing teams & operating companies that constitute Sainsbury's Argos while appreciating the differing cultures & priorities prevalent.
      • You have the ability to build relationships and collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders around the business (Trading, Content, Design, Planning, Marketing) to ensure we can achieve the goals we set out, by obtaining all information/deliverables we need.
      • Building an open & honest relationship with your Digital Trading Lead is key to ensure the successful execution of category plans.

      What decisions I can make including budget:

      • You have no direct responsibilities for budgets, however budget may need to be sought by other teams to facilitate some projects.
      • You need to be aware of financial impacts of decisions & to ensure risks & opportunities are mitigated / flagged to budget holder.
      • You will have final accountability for the integrity and quality of website merchandising.
      • You will be involved in measuring the category performance daily, and making decisions on actions to optimise the channels each day.
