  Job Description Summary

  DMP Lead Engineer will lead Direct Material Productivity (DMP) projects acting as liaison with Leadership Team. He/She will operate within the cross-functional team with Sourcing and Supplier Quality and support the generation and assessment of cost out activities in charge of Engineering department. He/She will support the execution of projects approved by Program / Sourcing according to the relevant Engineering processes (e.g. Change in Design or Source Substantiation). Main focus of this role is to generate technical solutions which enable part cost reduction, in concurrence with Hardware Owners, System Engineers, Engineering Material System specialist and the technical Community.

  Essential Responsibilities

  In this role, you will:

  • Analyze Cost gaps on part numbers/modules by making use of the digital tools available or by working on generating suitable cost tools promoting the cost culture.

  • Leverage the available cost analysis tools and guide the DMP ideas generation exploring all possible solutions.

  • Generate new technical solution which has an impact on part cost reduction, validate their feasibility and assess on the application of ideas across multiple products/product lines.

  • Lead Kaizen events at supplier sourcing

  • Coordinate, from Engineering side, the execution of the approved ideas by ensuring on time delivery, high-quality job according to the Engineering processes (especially design change).

  • Participate to the cross-functional Operating Rhythm, promoting a problem-solving approach, prioritization of the task and work elbow to elbow in cross functional teams (Sourcing, Engineering, MAE, Sourcing quality) to perform idea generation and execution according to plan.

  Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited University, Mechanical / Aeronautical / Materials preferred

  • Experience in Mechanical Design

  • Knowledge of engineering design processes

  • Knowledge of Aeronautical industrial processes

  • English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
