What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead a team of six commercial attorneys in negotiating and drafting contracts
- Support the sales team in all lending partnership activities
- Manage and structure commercial contracts for third-party engagements
- Balance responsibilities as both an individual contributor and a team manager
- Ensure compliance with contract law and maintain high standards in contract negotiation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial transactions
- Experience managing a team of lawyers and legal professionals
- Proven ability to balance individual and managerial responsibilities
- Prior experience in both law firm and in-house settings
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Banking and/or fintech commercial legal experience strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience at a highly-regarded national law firm
- 3+ years of in-house legal experience
- Familiarity with data privacy issues and true lender/true sale issues
- Admission to the CA or NY bar
