Enable Zendesk to grow effectively with M&A by upping our game on IMO.
Advise on integration strategy for each deal (full integration vs. partial vs. standalone etc.)
Develop and share a detailed playbook covering all aspects of integration (and including templates for each key output). Should include Day 1 communications/alignment, employee onboarding, retention planning, joint product planning, etc.
Eventually extend the playbook to cover earlier phases in the deal process (incl. evaluation and due diligence). Act as the primary editor and apply a consistent approach.
Capture best practices and continually improve IMO processes.
Manage live projects and advise other team members who are helping to manage workstreams.
Interface with integration leads from each function (Product, Sales/Mktg., HR, Finance, etc.) to check on progress and offer support.
Develop dashboards to track the integration progress and performance of completed deals. Make recommendations to close gaps and/or accelerate progress.
Prepare and deliver updates and report-outs to senior executives.
Act as a primary resource to integration executives on each deal.
Structure and conduct deal reviews (institutionalize a post audit process).
Be proactive when you see risk and be a loud voice when something is off track.
Undergraduate business degree from a top-tier university. MBA is a plus but not required.
Prior experience in Corporate Development, Business Transformation, or Consulting
12+ yrs of relevant work experience, including at least 5 yrs. of program management directly related to M&A initiatives.
Demonstrated leadership in an IMO at scale.
CAPM or PMP is helpful but not required.
Deep familiarity with integration methodology.
Experience in documenting IMO best practices and templates.
Expertise and/or strong interest in the enterprise software/SaaS industry.
Possess excellent judgment, high emotional intelligence, and extensive experience working with executives.
Ability to work effectively as a team player and lead virtual, cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Willingness to own the results of large and transformational M&A integration initiatives.

Who we're looking for:
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Corporate Development team, reporting to the VP of Corporate Development. This role will own the practice for M&A integration at Zendesk. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in program management of acquisitions (of many shapes and sizes). While the specific focus is on integration, experience in all phases of M&A is helpful. This position is ultimately responsible for the successful integration of each transaction at Zendesk. The Director IMO will develop and share best practices, a comprehensive playbook, and dashboards for tracking against key acquisition objectives.

The US annualized base salary range for this position is $180,000.00-$270,000.00. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location.
