Role: Director, eCommerce Marketing
Location: Santa Monica CA 90404
Duration: 3+ months extensions
Description:
● Work closely with VP, eCommerce (Commercial) and the Sr. Manager, eCommerce to develop and grow the Sound of Vinyl and UDiscover store brands through strategic marketing campaigns aligned with product launches, anniversaries, reissues, and cultural moments.
● Develop artist- and release-specific marketing strategies that deliver on revenue, profit, engagement, and customer growth goals.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, media planners, store managers, and customer experience to align marketing efforts with business goals.
● Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to optimize marketing spend.
● Work with VP of eCommerce to implement and optimize SEO strategies to grow organic search rankings to increase site traffic
● Oversee customer acquisition and retention efforts, ensuring targeting and messaging are personalized and effective.
● Assist in building out and optimizing the loyalty program(s) and how it is utilized to engage repeat customers
● Create and manage the Sound of Vinyl social accounts by working with social agency to ensure consistent calendars and execution
● Work collaboratively with UDiscover Editorial team on integrating Marketing campaigns and products into UDiscover social posts and editorial calendar
● Coordinate campaigns with Sr. Director & Director of Media Planning to ensure marketing campaigns and advertising strategies are aligned, as well as ensure the Media planning team has consistent fresh creative to maximize results and ROAS
● Work closely with Director, eCommerce (CRM) to develop robust CRM marketing strategies and ensure copy and branding are consistent
● Liase and work closely with UMe Marketing Team to ensure priority projects are integrated in the O&O store strategy
● Work with our Creator lead to launch and run creator campaigns to promote products and drive sales
● Oversee content creation for promotional content to drive awareness for the SOV and UD brands as well as product reveals and informational videos
● Lead and manage campaign reporting, delivering actionable insights that inform future strategy and drive continuous improvement.
● Possess a strong knowledge of the eCommerce space including competitive strategies, marketing strategies, product development, consumer research, usability best practices and industry trends.
● Work closely with customer experience teams to ensure that every fan interaction—pre- and post-purchase—feels premium, personal, and aligned with our brand.
Bring your VIBE:
● 3-5 years of eCommerce and digital marketing experience, with a proven track record of driving revenue and customer growth in a D2C environment.
● Strong grasp of full-funnel marketing strategy and execution across owned, earned, and paid channels.
● Deep understanding of fan behavior, cultural marketing, and how to authentically connect artists to audiences.
● Exceptional project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities with precision and creativity.
● Analytical thinker with fluency in performance metrics, attribution, testing, and A/B experimentation.
● Proficient with marketing tools such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and Google Analytics.
● Direct experience in music, entertainment, fashion, or lifestyle eCommerce preferred.
● Collaborative, proactive, and resourceful—able to thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and constantly evolving environment.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling and brand voice.
