Conduct a landscape analysis of major industry initiatives in the workforce arena
Lead our approach to industry—with a focus on Fortune 500 companies— to identify partners who will invest in our program to ensure our curriculum is relevant and our completers have a n industry- recognized credential
Identify strong employer partners based on our strategy , and work with G eneral Manager to utilize your network and College Board staff connections to employers, industry associations, and other stakeholders to build connections
Attend conferences and build trusting and productive relationships with key thought leaders in the industry and workforce arena
Develop an effective proposal and pitch materials for employers to invest as founding members of our progra m who will contribute their time, perspective, and potentially funding
Build and manage this pipeline of prospects through closing partnership agreements
Solidify at least one partnership in year one of our program , five before our national launch
Charter and manage a Founding Industry E xternal A dvisory B oard of sector experts
Liai se between the curriculum writing team and industry leaders to ensure our content and assessment is workforce relevant
E valuate the merits and risks of Career Kick s tart’s proposal as it is developed and evolved, solicit feedback to gauge viability with our employer partners
Partner closely with the Career Kickstart General Manager and program team to provide a perspective on how program design decisions will impact post-secondary hiring
A passion for supporting career advancement and economic mobility for millions of students . Your work is informed by lived experience building systems to navigate barriers to student choice a nd mobility .
Experience in workforce development and employer relations, ideally having worked in-house at a Fortune 500 Company
The ability to understand multiple perspectives , think strategically about meeting a variety of partners’ needs, and follow-through to build coalitions. You have e xperience building relationships, growing partnerships, and facilitating deals with employer partners and/or workforce development organizations .
Outstanding knowledge of emerging trends in and motivations behind employers’ workforce readiness and CSR initiatives
Strong organization and prioritization skills and the proven ability to move forward multiple projects simultaneously , both independently and as a member of the team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting and facilitating meetings for a variety of stakeholders ; PowerPoint and Word proficiency required
A n appetite for ambiguity and a willingness to take on work beyond formal responsibilities when team success requires

This is a remote role, but residence in New York (where our central office is located ) or one of our focus states – CO, TN, KY, TX or NC – is preferred
If you live in NYC, staff are asked to come into the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays
The ability to travel 4-6 times a year to our NYC office and 2-3 conferences/CB events a year
Background in private sector and// or CSR is preferred, but not required
Authorization to work in the US

About Career Kickstart
Career Kickstart expands the successful AP model to the career and technical education space, by offering schools a new set of career-oriented high school courses that provide students with relevant, high-quality instruction and experiences that lead to industry-recognized credentials and college credit, and ultimately, power students' progress to in-demand jobs in high-growth sectors and choice-filled lives.
We are in the early stages of building this program and have a start-up culture.
About the Opportunity
The Director of Employer Partnerships will be part of our founding team and is responsi ble for cultivating and creating partnerships with Fortune 500 companies to ensure multiple major partnerships by national launch. The Direc tor will excel at pitching potential partners via identifying mutual wins and get energy from creating and closing innovative deals. This staff member will operate with urgency and initiative, able to operate independently in an ambiguous context, and master the details/follow-up that drive strong partnerships.

The maximum salary for this role, based on a New York City cost of labor, is $140,000. This means that the most experienced candidate living in NYC could receive this offer. The minimum salary for a candidate based in NYC is $100,000. Depending on cost of labor in the candidate's location, a final offer for this role could be 20% less than the NYC range.
