Provide end‑to‑end leadership for the Energy Conservation portfolio across Gas Distribution & Storage (GDS), ensuring programs support system reliability, cost‑effective energy and bill reductions supporting customer affordability.
Set and evolve multi‑year DSM strategies across residential, commercial, industrial, and low‑income customer segments.
Oversee program performance and continuous improvement using evaluation, measurement & verification (EM&V), participation trends, and cost‑effectiveness results aligned with regulatory approvals.
Provide strategic oversight of Integrated Resource Planning, translating policy direction into actionable system and capital planning approaches.
Embed IRP into infrastructure planning, non‑pipe alternatives (NPAs), and long‑term asset strategy.
Lead regulatory positions and evidence for IRP‑related applications and proceedings.
Act as a trusted executive voice with provincial/state energy ministries, regulators, electricity system operators, and industry associations.
Represent the organization in regulatory proceedings, industry forums, and conferences, advocating for effective, market‑based approaches to conservation and planning.
Build and sustain strong relationships with peer utilities, consultants, evaluators, and intervenor groups.
Lead and develop a team of managers and subject‑matter experts delivering complex, multi‑jurisdictional programs.
Foster a culture of critical thinking, collaboration, inclusion, and accountability across diverse subject areas and geographies.
A university degree in engineering, economics, commerce, law, or a related field; a post‑graduate degree is an asset.
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or regulated industries, with deep exposure to regulatory or commercial environments.
Demonstrated expertise in DSM program design, market transformation, cost‑effectiveness testing, and EM&V.
Strong understanding of IRP principles, NPAs, load forecasting, and capital planning integration.
Advanced knowledge of utility regulation, rate‑setting, and quasi‑judicial regulatory processes.
Strategic, enterprise‑level thinker who can operate comfortably in ambiguity and long‑term planning horizons.
Proven ability to influence senior leaders, regulators, and external partners through clear, credible communication.
Experience driving transformational changes across functions.
Strong judgment, resilience, and comfort leading to challenging priorities with high stakes.
Primarily office‑based with periodic travel to company locations, regulatory forums, customer sites, and industry conferences across Canada and the U.S.
Fast‑paced, high‑impact environment requiring sound decision‑making under competing deadlines.

This is a non-union positionWe are seeking a senior leader to serve as Director, Energy Conservation & Integrated Resource Planning (IRP). This role sits on the Commercial & Business Development senior leadership team and plays a critical part in shaping how energy conservation, system planning, and regulatory strategy come together to support safe, reliable, affordable, and resilient energy solutions for millions of customers.
This leader sets the strategic direction and execution for Demand Side Management (DSM) and Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) across all jurisdictions in which Enbridge Gas operates, working at the intersection of public policy, system planning, customer affordability, and long‑term infrastructure investment. The role represents the organization externally with regulators, governments, system operators, and industry partners, while enabling strong internal alignment across planning, capital, regulatory, and commercial teams.
