- Support the development, creation and implementation of a long-term strategy to protect and enhance the reputation of the Coca-Cola system in Washington, D.C. including collaborating with the Strategic Communications and Political Strategy & Advocacy team to develop relevant thought leadership platforms with non-governmental parties inside the beltway.
- Support engagement with industry trade associations to build coalitions that support federal policy stances that best position the Coca-Cola system in Washington, D.C.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with Federal government policymakers in the Administration and Congress.
- Collaborate with Stakeholder & Social Impact team and Public Policy team to align on policy positions, messaging and engagement with non-government national policy stakeholders in Washington D.C., and influencers to advance policies that drive our business goals and company reputation.
- Collaborate with the NAOU Strategic Communications, Corporate External Communications and other global Government Relations and policy teams to provide guidance on public communications and media issues related to federal government legislation or administrative action.
- Serve as a resource and expert for North America bottler teams, Supply Chain, Corporate PACS and Scientific & Regulatory Affairs related to federal legislative opportunities and threats.
- Assist with developing and executing company federal Political Action Committee complying with Coca-Cola Political Giving Criteria and ensures compliance with all federal lobbying disclosure requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
- 15+ years’ experience in public affairs in public, private or NGO sector; government experience is preferred
- Working understanding across multi-cultural, matrixed organization
- Developed stakeholder network
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate complex issues to drive tangible business actions.
- Focus on improving company reputation and driving company purpose with key government and non-government stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor, understand and anticipate government policy actions, while developing “FOR” system positions that define the strategic direction for the business and public advocacy.
- Communication Focus
- Collaborate with the Policy / Federal GR lead and Strategic Communications team lead to align and drive federal public policy communication and media response in partnership with allied trade associations.
- Lead communicator with BOTH convergent & divergent federal government stakeholders (executive and legislative branches, as well as regulatory authorities), including building coalitions and influencing decision-makers.
- Internal communicator to build consensus, ensure alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders.

The Coca-Cola Company is looking for a dynamic individual to work as part of team of public policy and government relations professionals, supported by outside lobbyists, to manage The Coca-Cola Company and the Coca-Cola North America System’s strategic engagement with the Federal government on public policy issues in North America. Engage with the executive branch, Congress, and the diplomatic corps in Washington, D.C. as well as non-government stakeholders across the spectrum of topics impacting the system and the communities in which we operate.
