      GLO (Global Logistics Operations) lead for interfacing with three of the Divisional Operations Team members. Responsible for coordinating both domestic and international GLO activities for both divisions across the GLO organization. Provide both Divisional Operations Team’s with exceptional levels of support and communication around all GLO business activities. In parallel, develop and lead driving GLO business strategies to improve operating income, operational capabilities, quality, standardization and communication up through the DOT’s. Become subject matter on all GLO operational activities for each division. Use that subject matter expertise for consistently developing ongoing improvements to the business that benefit the divisions and GLO. These improvements will directly tie this position to the P&L.

      The Director of Logistics Operations is accountable for leading the strategy for business improvement across the DOT’s and providing steady and consistent support and communication for each Division across GLO. Is the point person for driving strategies and initiatives across each of the Divisions entire GLO footprint. This will require working with GLO team members to problem solve, process map, and design solutions to quantifiably improve the business.

      This position provides leadership and strategic direction to the function, creating a reputation of excellence and ensuring a “Best in Class” organization is created and maintained through implementing solutions to further develop, drive and improve customer satisfaction / experience, manage and reduce costs, enhance and develop processes, and support the creation and optimization of an end-to-end supply chain.

      Set the direction for the US distribution teams, together with the Global Logistics & Operations leadership team, to ensure organizational readiness and alignment with customer needs and delivery capability for the required service levels.

      Ensure strategic planning of the US distribution functions aligns with the Stryker mission and company-wide objectives and initiatives.

      Lead in the development, modification and improvement of the overall Stryker distribution network, the expanded US physical footprint, 3PL partnerships, procedures, policies, processes and the development of new services to increase external and internal customer satisfaction and lower overall costs. This is in close collaboration / cooperation with other GQO functions and divisional partners.

      Lead in the development and continued management of current and future 3PL activities to drive improved service at reduced cost while meeting Stryker’s requirements for quality and sustainability compliance.

      Ensure all US distribution operational activities are in line with the applicable Medical Device Directives, applicable ISO standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, FCPA, Trade Compliance, VAT, Health & Safety, and any other local & international laws, rules & regulations.

      Lead and oversee all activities related to the US distribution budget for CPU, and quality metrics for any divisional touch points across the GLO footprint.

      Establishes and enforces programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety and adherence to all European, national and local statutes.

      Ensure compliance with global and local regulations regarding health & safety, regulatory and hazardous materials, as well as internal policies and procedures.

      Active participation in the Global Logistics & Customer Operations Leadership Team and in the development and execution of both US and global strategy for logistics.

      Actively engages with both the Division Operations Leadership team and Division Commercial Operations teams to continuously improve service to internal and external customers, stay aligned with divisional priorities, and proactively communicate the distribution strategy and initiatives.

      Identifies logistics needs to support growth of the business while developing and implementing new logistics models.

      Influences the development of systems and procedures for operating and managing physical facilities, human capital, equipment, and products in a compliant and profitable manner.

      Ensure Business Continuity Plans are in place for US distribution locations to avoid any supply disruptions and to ensure continuity of services to external & internal customers (e.g., fire, natural disasters, etc.).

      Deliver upon Stryker’s corporate responsibility commitments as they apply to US distribution operations and teams.

      Establish a process excellence organization devoted to driving best in class capabilities and standardization for distribution operations and 3PL partnerships.

      Education Requirements:

      Undergraduate degree required and graduate degree preferred with focus in Supply Chain, Engineering, Enterprise Planning, or related field.

      Experience Requirements:

      10+ years of experience in Supply Chain management, Logistics, Operations or related fields are required, including:

      Demonstrated leadership with proven organizational development and planning expertise necessary to lead teams through continual changes while demonstrating high levels of engagement.

      Experience in influencing multiple teams and groups across various geographies.

      Experience in working in a multi-national and -cultural environment preferred.

      Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies and warehousing in terms of set-up, capacity planning and optimization.

      Hands on work experience with and knowledge of logistics management, warehousing, fulfillment, inventory, planning, supply chain, order management and MRP tools / system.

      Experience with International Standards (e.g., ISO / FDA).

      Experience in leadership roles with responsibility for multiple operational functions, systems, and analytics platforms

      Demonstrated ability to build relationships that help achieve results and influence employees/managers at every level of the organization.

      Leading within a decentralized, matrix organization

      Medical device standards and regulatory requirements

      Leading and managing multiple projects

      Strong business process analysis capability

      Experience in reverse logistics in Medical Device or Healthcare Markets.

      Strong knowledge of IT systems & tools and their implications for business processes (Oracle and SAP preferred)

      High influencing and persuasion to drive collaboration across multiple stakeholders

      Change management and transformational leadership

      Travel Percentage: 30%
