Title and Summary
Director – Global Product Commercialization – Data Strategy & Management Business around the world are facing a deluge of data yet often struggle to put in place the right strategies and governance models to leverage that data effectively. Role Responsibilities:
As the Global Product Leader in Mastercard’s Data & Services organization, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing Mastercard’s strategy for our Data Strategy, Governance and Management services and solutions portfolio.
Within this global function, you will:
• Lead the global Data Strategy & Management product and practice teams
• Own the product & practice P&L for the business
• Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and develop products and/or services to address the market needs
• Drive new products and enhancements through the Mastercard product development lifecycle
• Jointly define the commercialization strategy in partnership with the regional, global, and local product teams aligned with overall business objectives and product roadmaps
• Work closely with regional product, sales, and account management teams to support growth of the business including support and execution of the GTM strategy
• Support local teams in identifying market opportunities, target client segments, and opportunities to drive successful product launches and market penetration
• Serve as a thought leader in your domain; contribute to Mastercard thought leadership and represent the Data practice at events, conferences, etc.
Experience:
• Proven experience in product management, product commercialization, client and/or account management, or a related business role in the data domain
• Results-oriented with a track record of achieving commercial objectives and driving revenue growth in a global organization
• Strong ability to Convince/Influence senior stakeholders, internal and external
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders; possess good executive presence and be comfortable presenting to senior and C-level executives
• Demonstrated skills in storyboarding and expressing vision and outcomes to influence sales and cross/upsell opportunities
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscape
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate matrixed, cross-functional teams without direct management responsibility
• Strong technical skills and comfortable with industry/domain jargon to demonstrate credibility with unique buying personas
About you:
• Demonstrated experience in the tools, processes and rules required to develop data strategy that drives business value
• Have knowledge and experience with data governance models, policies, and processes including, but not limited to, stakeholder and change management
• Have a deep understanding of the role of a “Data Product Manager” within an organization and the processes required to build or enhance “Data Products” that drive new or enhanced business opportunities
• Understand the connection between product management and data science and use of that knowledge to develop solutions that help organizations realize business value from their data
• Possess knowledge and experience in the lifecycle of data products, how to drive alignment to business goals, demonstrate business and/or commercial value and broader knowledge of the required infrastructure on which these products may be built
• Knowledge and experience with data protection and privacy regimens impacting Banking and Financial Services Institutions and other verticals/industry segments
Additional criteria:
• Ability and willingness to travel globally; travel is on an as-needed basis but may be up to 50%
• Undergraduate degree required; advanced business or technical degree preferred
• Industry certifications appreciated but not required
