      Job Description

      The Director, Global Technology Partnerships is responsible for driving commercial success with our Technology Partners and Strategic Alliances to extend our joint value to our customers and drive Rockwell business growth. This person oversees the co-development, co-marketing and co-selling motions of partners and Rockwell Automation solutions. Ensures market readiness and go to market of joint solutions, including thought leadership, channels to market, sales enablement and communications.

      The Director defines the technology partnership strategy in line with Rockwell’s Connected Enterprise strategy, establishes priorities and drives execution of all aspects of these partnerships. These partnerships include Technology Vendors (hardware and software), Information Software Vendors, and Infrastructure Vendors like cloud providers and more.

      The person manages a large global organization that includes the Technology Partner Program managers, Strategic Alliance managers, and Rockwell Automation Technology organization responsible for licensing Rockwell Automation IP as well as supports technical integration work with 3rd party companies.

      The Director will work closely with Corporate Development, the Business Unit leadership, and regional sales and marketing organizations to determine the right partnerships to meet strategic needs and growth objectives of the organization. This person will also work with the global and regional industry teams, marketing and sales leadership and channel organization to assure successful go to market approach for our technology partnerships.

      The person is responsible for measuring, tracking, and reporting all direct and indirect financial impact of the partnering activity.

      The position requires the ability to work effectively in a complex strategic environment involving all Rockwell Automation businesses, Global Sales, and Marketing and with the senior management of our partners. The position works closely with the Intellectual Property and Commercial Law departments to safeguard company IP assets and develop contracts governing all activity.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Exceed Rockwell revenue and market share growth expectation through strategic partnerships.

      • Create new technology partnerships with a “Better Together” value proposition for our customers.

      • Develop and execute Rockwell Technology Partner strategy in collaboration with Business Units and Regional leadership.

      • Define and manage all aspects of the Technology Partner Programs

      • Create new partnerships that complement and enhance Rockwell Automation’s value proposition and help us grow market share.

      • Identify, develop, and cultivate new partnerships from technical integration to successful commercial go to market execution.

      • Work with marketing to develop efficient and highly effective partner communication strategies.

      • Collaborate with sales and marketing to integrate partner capabilities into core marketing messages.

      • Lead the complex negotiation to develop agreements for the partnerships.

      • Measure and report partner financial impact and communicate within the company.

      • Active in the governance and strategic direction of all Strategic Alliances

      • Manage and develop global technical team and commercial business development team.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline plus MBA preferred.

      • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years management experience.

      • Proven track record in global leadership

      • Broad expertise in developing and managing technology partnerships and strategic alliances.

      • Strong experience in developing and implementing winning partner strategies across software, services and hardware, XaaS

      • SaaS and Annual Recurring Revenue in Software Industry

      • Good technical knowledge in Cloud Computing, DaaS models, Internet of Things technologies and Industry 4.0

      • Global experience working in different markets.

      • Experience working in a matrix environment and large multi-national company.

      • Ability to work influence across organizational boundaries.

      • A collaborative spirit that focuses winning as a team versus winning as an individual

      • Solution sales experience, pre-sales or business development background would be highly preferred.

      • Ability to travel greater than 50% of time.

      • Leadership and change management skills successfully leading leaders

      • Ability to influence at executive staff level and across organizational boundaries.

      • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a wide variety of mid to senior level managers at partners and within Rockwell Automation

      • Demonstrated strong collaboration and team effectiveness.

      • Results oriented and self-motivated.

      The base salary compensation range for this role is $171,840 - $214,800 with an annual target bonus of 20% of base salary, with opportunity for equity and stock grants.
