      Position: Director, Modern Commerce Strategy

      Location: Remote within the contiguous US; employees should live within 50 miles of a major airport. Preferred states include AZ, CA, FL, GA, KS, MO, NJ, NC, OK, OR, PA, TN, WA. Additional states will be considered for the ideal candidate.

      Job Summary:

      The Director, Modern Commerce Strategy is a part of the Brandrunner team at Netrush. The Brandrunner is the strategic guide responsible for charting a brand’s digital retail growth path within the Netrush ecosystem. As the brand’s primary point of contact, the Brandrunner sets the direction necessary for the Netrush team to execute with speed, clarity, and impact. This role ensures brands strengthen their connection to consumers, improve their digital commerce performance, and build durable long-term growth across the platforms Netrush manages.

      Job Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Setting the Course for the Brand and Netrush

        • Establish clear strategic direction so Netrush teams can execute the right actions at the right time.

        • Understand brand goals, customer intent, and category conditions to enable internal teams to move quickly and deliver high quality outcomes.

      • Brand Point of Contact and Insight Owner

        • Gather, organize, and interpret insights related to the brand’s overall business, strategic priorities, planning cycles, customer behavior, category landscape, competitive pressures, and channel performance.

        • Use these insights to guide next best actions across the Netrush teams.

      • Modern Commerce Execution and Playbook Facilitation

        • Facilitate the full Netrush modern playbook across awareness, optimization, and retention.

        • Maintain a strong understanding of the brand’s intent and initiatives across awareness, social activity, content, AEO, and retention programs, and use this context to guide strategy within managed commerce platforms such as Amazon US. Support retail readiness, conversion improvement, operational alignment, and customer connection pathways.

      • Collaboration with MediaPilot

        • Partner closely with MediaPilot as a connected leadership pair.

        • Define goals, insights, financial expectations, and long term direction while MediaPilot leads advertising, paid media, creative strategy, and measurement.

        • Align acquisition and awareness strategies, integrate off platform discovery with on platform conversion, and ensure retail media contributes meaningfully to overall brand performance.

      • Brand Knowledge Owner

        • Maintain accurate and complete brand and product knowledge documents that guide direction and optimization within the Netrush teams.

        • Ensure meeting notes and transcripts are captured and fed into the system to support learning, pattern recognition, and ongoing optimization.

      • Financial Responsibility

        • Manage the P&L with a balanced view of brand expectations and Netrush business outcomes.

        • Ensure the retail management business meets the financial goals of the brand while supporting the operational, revenue, and profitability expectations of Netrush.

        • Understand revenue trends, profitability drivers, operational costs, media efficiency, inventory implications, and cash flow.

      • Alignment Across Stakeholders

        • Ensure alignment across brand executives, internal teams, and the broader network of individuals connected to the brand’s success.

        • Communicate clearly, surface risks early, accelerate decision making, and maintain shared understanding throughout the partnership.

      • Supporting Consumer Connection Strategy

        • Thoughtfully incorporate CRM and consumer connection considerations into digital commerce strategies.

        • Ensure marketplace actions support the brand’s broader goal of understanding customers, strengthening relationships, and building long term community across retail environments.

      Required Skills:

      • Experience in retail strategy, ecommerce, account management, or digital commerce

      • Strong understanding of Amazon or similar retail platforms

      • Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable plans

      • Excellent communication and client relationship skills

      • Ability to lead through influence across cross functional teams

      • Strong financial acumen with P&L experience

      • Familiarity with paid media, retail media, and awareness strategies

      • Strong organizational and documentation skills

      Preferred Skills:

      • Experience in brand management or consulting

      • Experience with CRM or customer journey strategies

      • Knowledge of category dynamics within health, wellness, beauty, or CPG

      • Understanding of AEO, social commerce, or modern media ecosystems

      Remote Work Requirements:

      Compensation and Benefits:

      • Annual base salary range is $110,000 - $175,000, depending on experience and location
