      The role you’ll contribute:

      Directs and supervises general accounting functions for the AdventHealth encompassing Accounts Payable, Payroll, and monthly Financial Statement preparation. Responsibilities extend to overseeing the accounting system, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and managing the payroll cycle process, physician compensation/bonus calculations, fixed asset management and the annual tax reports. This role involves the compilation of the annual budget, coordination with external auditors and consultants for financial and regulatory audits, and the preparation of regulatory reports. It requires strong collaboration with accounting and finance teams, department heads, and external entities such as boards, creditors, rating agencies, and regulatory agencies to maintain financial integrity. The position entails the development and implementation of policies and procedures for efficient operation, significant areas balance sheet management, including investments, debt and net assets, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Additionally, it includes overseeing a team responsible for general ledger and other accounting activities in a shared services environment, analyzing key business metrics, and providing problem resolution. The role demands excellent oral/written communication skills for policy development and serving as a liaison for various organizational entities, fostering relationships that are equally respectful to all.

      Provide leadership and support to staff, including proactive training and guidance, troubleshooting support, issue escalation, and project prioritization

      Identify and help resolve problems in the accounting, and reporting processes and when appropriate, identifies and initiates change to prevent future problems or improve existing processes

      Lead and support continuous improvement activities by analyzing metrics and identifying needed system modifications and process changes, including implementing enhanced automation

      Collaborate with other leaders on operational and strategic matters

      Implement and monitor key performance indicators and productivity goals; identify root cause for variances and applicable process improvements; and report key findings to appropriate leadership

      Responsible for the establishment and effectiveness of internal controls

      Work collaboratively with other department leadership, including revenue cycle, finance, treasury, IT, and physician practice personnel

      Achieve superior customer satisfaction by embracing and exemplifying the AdventHealth service standards

      Responsible for other duties as assigned by the AdventHealth leadership team

      Available outside of normal business hours for occasional support needs

      Other duties as assigned.

      The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

      Minimum qualifications :

      Bachelors in Accounting

      Masters or CPA preferred

      Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital accounting, finance, or healthcare revenue cycle

      Experience with internal control functions, statement preparation and auditing.

      Previous supervisor experience required
