      Job Description:

      Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Director of Learning & Development to join our Human Resources Department. This position is open to being remotely located with a strong preference being located near an Airbus facility or in or a commutable distance to Mobile, Alabama; Wichita, Kansas; Herndon, Virginia; Grand Prairie, Texas or Denver, Colorado.

      The Director of Learning & Development is responsible for the strategy, delivery and operations of an exceptional learning and behavioral development experience for employees of Airbus in North America. Based on the business objectives and strategy, this person should deliver an outcome-based Learning & Leader Development roadmap for identified development needs. This role requires leveraging multiple and modern learning & development approaches and forums, ultimately providing the means for developing a skills-powered organization, with a special focus on defining and prioritizing critical capabilities and leadership at all levels.

      This position works closely with other members of the People & Organization Develop team, the greater Airbus Americas HR community, the Airbus North America and Latin America's business leaders, as well as the Global Leadership University, Competence and Workforce Community of Practice, Global Talent Executive Management team, HR Digital and the Learning and Knowledge Management Community of Practice and Learning and Development teams worldwide

      Your Challenges:

      • Define and execute the Learning & Leader Development strategy and roadmap for Airbus North America

      • Direct and manage the Airbus Leadership University portfolio planning, deployment and learning effectiveness in the Americas

      • Communication & Marketing of programs


      Your Boarding Pass:

      • 15+ years of experience directing, designing, and delivering Learning, Leadership Development, and/or Talent Management solutions and programs

      • 10+ years of experience leading and developing cross-cultural teams of learning and/or talent program and product managers, and developing new initiatives and strategies as a part of a matrixed team within an international organization

      • 10+ years of project management experience, overseeing matrixed product-development and learning professionals

      • Proven success in directing operations and resourcing models for learning infrastructure and delivery. Must include experience with administration of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning models, as well as LMS administration.

      • Seasoned in partnering with Senior Executives to perform needs assessment and developing sophisticated solutions to complex problems

      • Demonstrated ability in utilizing data to assess needs, partnering with people analytics and understand themes and gaps, and establishing KPIs to measure both learning and organizational outcomes.

      • Strong Strategic thinking capabilities that is translated into strategy creation, deployment and oversight.

      • In-Depth knowledge pertaining to; building strategies in a complex environment, Leadership and Employee Development principles, processes and tools.

      • Ability to influence, educate, and engage

      • Ability to work in a highly organized and self-directed manner

      • Strong team building and relationship building skills

      • Excellent judgment and decision making capability

      • Demonstrated success implementing large scale corporate programs

      • Sound project management skills and familiarity with different project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle

      • Thorough understanding of the impact culture can have on organizational success

      • Sound analytics and comparative analysis skills to simplify data in order to engage and inspire the customers.

      • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong ability to influence and negotiate with others

      • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences


      Physical Requirements:

      • Onsite or remote: 60%

      • Candidate should be comfortable working at a computer for extended periods of time in an office environment

      • Candidates should be able to attend relevant conventions and corporate outreach opportunities, which may occur outside on uneven surfaces and require overnight travel.

      • Vision: Daily able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, presentations and reports.

      • Hearing: Daily able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms.

      • Speaking: Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

      • Equipment Operation: daily use of personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors.

      • Carrying: Daily able to carry documents, tools, electronic equipment up to 10lbs.

      • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.

      • Travel: 25% of time able to travel independently and at short notice.

      • Walking : Daily able to walk through office areas including uneven surfaces.

      • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

      Salary range:

      Salary range based on the required profile: $148,000 - 195,000/year. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
