- Provide leadership and day to day management to the Operational Risk Reporting Team in India. Provide regular feedback and coaching, developing talent and building out the capability across the team
- Support the Head of Operational Risk MI & Reporting in defining and implementing the Data and Reporting Strategy
- Oversee production of the reporting processes and outputs to meet stakeholder needs and regulatory/policy compliance requirements, including BCBS239
- Responsible for the delivery of all internal and external reporting deliverables along with key governance activities such as the Risk Event Attestation process
- Lead in the delivery and implementation of industry leading reporting solutions and visualisations that continue to meet the needs for self-service reporting, ad-hoc data insights and analytics, internal and external reporting obligations
- Provide leadership to the team for automated reporting, data visualisations and analytics, creating innovative content and delivering value add to our stakeholders
- Design, execute and embed the Data Analytics strategy and capabilities including mobilisation of new team
- Provide leadership to the newly set-up Data Analytics team including oversight and execution of Data Analytics strategy, delivery roadmap and uses cases
- Ideate, develop and apply data science and analytical modelling techniques to identify trends and potential risk exposures as well as identifying patterns in data, correlations and causation that are otherwise difficult to spot
- Work with the broader Operational Risk teams and stakeholders to build out Data Analytics uses cases and drive automation key operational risk processes
- Promote a self-service culture by understanding the trends and behaviours in reporting usage and drive through the appropriate enhancements to ensure maximum utilisation of reporting and analytics toolsets
- As well as leading a team, this is a hands-on role with the successful role holder experienced in relevant programming (Sql, Perl, Python, R, Altrix etc.) and industry leading Business Intelligence and Data Analytics tools.
- Extensive stakeholder management to MD level as required to ensure timely decisions and solutions
- Be an internal leader in Business Intelligence, data visualisation and analytics solutions to drive long term effectiveness and sustainability
- Build collaborative relationships and work effectively with Chief Controls Office, Chief Data Office, Technology and other Business Units and Functions to build out and execute our data strategy and objectives
- Identify opportunities for data analytics and communicate appropriately to stakeholders to support build out and execution of use cases

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of service within financial services
- Experience in delivering reporting and data analytics solutions for consumption by senior stakeholders, committees/regulators
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to clearly articulate sophisticated technology ideas to non-tech stakeholders; development of business strategy, business cases and management presentations etc
- Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organisation and achieve positive outcomes
- Strong focus on excellence and delivery, resilient and able to work with many or varied deliverables
- Experience managing and delivering complex business projects with many dependencies in a matrix environment
- Experienced manager of people and proven ability to enable high-performance across the organisation.
- Hands on knowledge working with RDBMS, Python, SQL, UNIX, Tableau (or equivalents)
- Good knowledge of data science algorithms and toolsets, with ability to deliver high profile solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial mind-set with ability to drive a change across a function by leading and mentoring
- Proven ability to quickly learn emerging data analytics and reporting technologies and use them on the job
- Experience working within Risk and/or Operational Risk domain within relevant industry and/or GRC Vendors
- Practical understanding of BCBS239 principles and Barclays Group Data Management Standards.

About Risk
The Risk Function is responsible for the overall management and oversight of risk management practices group-wide. It operates across the organisation, and across the globe to protect Barclays’ financial performance and reputation.
About Operational Risk
The Operational Risk team is part of the Risk function. It owns and manages Barclays’ Operational Risk Framework, which sets out how operational risks are identified, assessed and managed across the Group. Operational Risk focuses on potential or actual impacts to the Group resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from an external event. The impacts to the Group can be financial as well as non-financial such as customer detriment, reputational or regulatory consequences.The Operational Risk Function has to maintain compliance with the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision (“BCBS”) 239 principles and improve risk management decision-making through the successful embedding of the principles into Barclays risk data aggregation and risk reporting practice. The Operational Risk & Control Data Domain has shared ownership with Chief Controls Office (CCO) and requires active management and governance to ensure ongoing compliance with the Risk Reporting Control Standard and Group Data Management Policy & Standards.
Overall purpose of role
The role holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of reporting solutions and outputs to meet Operational Risk internal, external body and regulatory requirements. This role will work across all areas of the Operational Risk and technology teams to provide business intelligence solutions, enhanced data insights and analytics to the Operational Risk function. The team makes use of the Tableau business intelligence platform delivering operational risk reporting across the bank to inform data driven decision making. An Agile delivery model is utilised to provide stakeholders the required insights in short timeframes.
The successful candidate will build on the existing strategy and take the lead role in the design, implementation and embedment of the Data Analytics strategy and capabilities across the global function. Key aims are to deliver:
