- Leverage best practices to effectively manage all aspects of IT outsourcing providers
- Achieve all outsourcing deliverables including contracts and other compliance documents in support of AbbVie business
- Analyze organizational needs and design processes collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Understand cross-functional impact of business process change prior to implementation
- Collaborate with non-IT ECF category managers and leads to propose and implement outsourcing and/or captive solutions to create business value
- Demonstrate expertise in outsourcing and technical competencies across multiple contract types. Highly competent in negotiation and contracting business standards. Responsible for reviewing contracts and associated documents to support timely execution
- Communicate, liaise, and train internal stakeholders on the sourcing and contracting processes and managing the contract life cycle
- Facilitate change management activities with service providers and the internal organization as it relates to bringing Outsourcing services back in house, changing Outsourcing services, strategic changes, etc
- Facilitate risk and compliance activities to ensure Infrastructure Outsourcing service providers are compliant with internal and external policies and regulations
- Plan, implement and track initiatives to drive continuous service and process improvements
- Function as IT SME for strategic sourcing initiatives as requested. Lead or provide guidance to stakeholders for complex negotiations
- Support, train, manage and mentor direct reports
- Promote AbbVie as the partner of choice in all external interactions to build the AbbVie br and
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 6-8 years of extensive experience managing and delivering large IT programs (Applications and Infrastructure) from requirements gathering to production implementation and support
- Experience or in-depth understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile methodologies, AI, RPA
- 4-8 years of experience in Sourcing and IT/Infrastructure Outsourcing, working directly with Service Providers, and managing contracts
- Experience in administrating outsourcing contracts and success at documenting and administering the following contractual terms:
- Service Level Methodology
- Resource Units
- Pricing Methodology & Appropriateness
- Commercial terms and sourcing specific terms
- Consultative, process driven thinking with a focus on continuous improvements
- Ability to leverage relationships and partner with internal teams to help them achieve their objectives
- Excellent supplier relationship building, supplier expectation management, resource planning
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple projects/programs
- Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey overall engagement objectives and maintain open lines of communication between the internal stakeholders and the service providers
- Strong analytical skills to review supplier proposals/solutions, resolve supplier management issues, and conduct research
- Ability to quickly establish credibility, garners support, and works effectively with internal stakeholders and divisions
- Experience influencing and escalating within a matrixed organization to drive decisions
- Management consulting experience
- Working knowledge of outsourcing functional:

- MBA and/or equivalent work experience

Enterprise Functions & Categories Overview:
The AbbVie Procurement Enterprise Functions & Categories (EFC) team’s mission is to partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver maximum category value while mitigating associated risks. The team leads the development and implementation of the governance framework to ensure achievement of AbbVie’s short term and long-term Outsourcing objectives while also establishing the enterprise risk mitigation strategy for outsourced activities across the enterprise. ECF collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure that Service Providers are meeting the needs of the business and delivering the contracted value to AbbVie.
Position Overview:
The Director, Outsourcing Strategy and Governance will create enterprise value by identifying and implementing outsourcing strategies and managing IT Outsourcing providers for compliance to contractual, performance and financial commitments, and partnering in value creation.
