Job Summary Global Technology Organization (GTO) is passionate about the technology, systems and tools that support the customer lifecycle (sales, fulfillment, assurance, billing, etc.), as well as employee-facing teams such as human resources, finance, and workplace information technology. The Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization works at the intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are continually designing and delivering products and next-generation technologies. Comcast Business Delivery (BSD) team is at the core of GTO to instrument the build of excellent business customer solutions to support the entirety of the LBGUPS lifecycle for business customers and fellow employees. Our team is responsible for building software, solutions, and process in partnership with our product and technology teams across Comcast. Job Description This critically meaningful role, Director of Software Development & Engineering is responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive guidance to OSS aspects of the SD & E Department's projects and activities. This person will develop and implement strategies and work with project personnel to develop project standards and performance metrics. They will work with Supervisors and Managers to ensure all applications meet project specifications and requirements; provide leadership and direction for the team which may include multiple functional areas; and develop and implement strategy for functional area(s). Additionally, the position may have responsibility for developing and managing platform and project budget. Required Knowledge and Skills: ‘Hands-on’ experience in modernization of large-scale OSS systems to next-generation Cloud-Native systems. Experience in Development and execution of long-term OSS technical vision and strategy in alignment with the Company's overall vision and business goals, while involving Strategic Partners, Architecture as well as Business stakeholders. Experienced with large-scale systems’ Software development, involving complex integration. Experiences in Definition/Dissemination/ institutionalization of development and integration ways-of-workings to large heterogeneous team (i.e., Comcast and strategic vendors’ employees) Instill a “Security/Operability/Observability by Design” attitude as early as throughout design, development and certification. Anticipate continuously operational aspects as part of system’s SW design (sizing, virtualization, performance, resilience, observability, operational housekeeping, reliability ) . Experience leading large, global and diverse teams. Telco OSS/BSS Experience, preferably in contexts of digital transformation programs Core Responsibilities: Works with Supervisors and Managers to ensure all deliverables adhere to deadlines, specifications and budgets. Develops and implements performance metrics. Reviews and reports on project progress to the leadership team. Leads the Software Development and Engineering team in the development of new software and web applications and leads the continued support for existing applications and applications in development. Leads all aspects of implementation initiatives, software updates and the roll-out of new software releases. Works with project personnel to define standards and frameworks with regards to software development and customization (coding, demarcated extensibility, automated scrum testing) Prepares and manages budget(s) and financial targets. Continuously researches new techniques with respect to coding technology and coding practices. Works with the Engineering team to implement new techniques that benefit the goals of the organization.
