- Technology Design and Leadership: Provide expert technical leadership on application design and architecture, to ensure they are aligned with enterprise strategies/standards and satisfying the technical strategy and design for the business. Oversee the completion of project deliverables by providing appropriate leadership and resources; ensure optimal quality of the applications while delivering solutions that are aligned with the business strategy; deliver on time and on budget and successfully meet commitments with high quality. Provide leadership to the development team in topics such as Devops, SDLC and coding best practices.
- Technology Delivery: Expert in agile and waterfall delivery frameworks. Lead development team delivery improvements including setting up and enhancing agile ceremonies and establishing development delivery KPI’s.
- Strategic Relationship Management: Directly partner with Capital Markets front office and contribute to overall business strategies; identify opportunities to leverage technology to meet business goals, increase efficiency and create robust platforms that support operational excellence; help define overall application technology strategy. Liaise with third party vendors regarding contract negotiations; understand and validate the vendor technical architectures to ensure it is aligned with the enterprise standards and/or are well understood by employees and have the necessary approvals from governing bodies within the enterprise.
- Strong Leadership: Provide technology leadership to Technology & Operations executive teams as required. Balance running daily business of ASG technology while establishing technology strategies and roadmaps aligned to enterprise architecture direction, with a view to continuous improvement. Be an authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people. Provide direction, motivate, develop and manage performance of the management team and key staff.
- You can demonstrate experience with: Leading multiple development teams ideally within Payments, Financial Services, Telco or a Digital/Technology focused industry. Have in-depth understanding of both current (MEAN) and traditional (legacy) technologies (Go-Lang/Java/Oracle/C++/Mainframe) front/backend Development combined with an understanding of system integration and networking. This role requires extensive practical experience in application development and end-to-end solution delivery, with the ability to understand and verify technical designs. Possess expert level knowledge in design and analysis methodology and application development processes within the financial services industry. Have an entrepreneurial/start-up mind-set, Maintain knowledge of leading & emerging technologies, with the ability to deliver first-to-market solutions for non-traditional clients situated in multiple global markets. What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology (CMT) division, reporting to the Senior Director, Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) Technology. The Director, Technology Development and Delivery - Alternate Solutions Group is responsible for the overall software development and delivery of the portfolio, including ensuring business requirements translate into proper scalable solutions. This role includes responsibilities for the overall technology planning, roadmap, and development, ensuring strategic and tactical Technology plans are developed to enable long term business vision through the achievement of business and T&O KPIs. This role will cover all aspects from strategic planning to application delivery and will work alongside cross functional and cross department technology partners. This encompasses the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of existing application architecture and business solutions, to meet current and future business needs. The application architecture and business solutions are across multiple technology platforms/delivery channels that primarily support the Alternate Solutions Group line of business.
