      The Population Health Management (PHM) team works with the health system and community partners to develop, implement, and manage value-based care strategies that improve patient outcomes and reduce the cost of care.       The Director is a critical leader and thought partner achieving growth in value-based care. This leader develops the strategy to achieve value-based care lines of business short/long-term financial goals.

      The Director has Profit & Loss accountability for a risk-based contract, driving and leading Quarterly Business Reviews to inform business strategic planning.

      This leader will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the contract details under their line of business and financial flows then directing and leading the rest of the department to achieve success.

      • Single accountability for a contract P&L including specific revenue and cost target delivery; success is measured by delivery of these numbers to the system
      • Drives and leads QBR to inform business strategic planning
      • Develops a deep understanding of the contract details under their LOB and financial flows i.e., how win in our contracts financially as well as revenue and shared savings targets
      • Tracks how the line of business is performing at a detailed level and communicates this to leadership and the PHM team
      • Seeks out ideas internally and externally for how to generate revenue, cost costs, and optimize resource allocation
      • Leads data modeling & strategic planning to understand gaps in performance and identify performance opportunities
      • Is accountable to line of business performance and directs operational, product, and analytics teams to focus keenly on areas that improve performance improvement
      • Hold other teams accountable for delivering on their contribution to LOB performance
      • Is data driven to identify improvement opportunities
      • Develop clear, concise performance reporting deliverables that cogently narrates the what and why of the trends and problem solve to develop the how to close improvement gaps
      • Manages to P&L targets (i.e., revenue and cost targets)

      • · Maintains deep understanding of contract structure and financial flows i.e., how we make money/revenue targets
      • Financial & financial modeling and strategic planning
      • Business performance reporting and synthesis to executive level, department level, and operation level leaders and front lines
      • Performance management leadership – Accountability, problem-solving, analytical thinking, attention to detail, industry knowledge, growth mindset,
      • People and organizational leadership – interpersonal skills, independence, collaborative skills, persuasion, communication, flexibility
      • Advanced influencing skills and strong emotional intelligence with stakeholder management and relationships
      • 8+ years relevant experience in healthcare, business, or a related environment with experience in financial planning or strategic finance or performance management
      • Advanced understanding of and experience in managing finances and budgets
      • 5 years of experience in directly creating and delivering strategic financial modeling used to inform critical business decisions
      • Advanced Microsoft Office experience with strong skills in Excel & PowerPoint
      • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or CPA degree preferred
      • Healthcare experience preferred
      • Business background preferred

      · Leadership: Capable of leading strategic financial planning efforts and teams including both leading complex projects & planning efforts, and cross-functional teams to inform PHM financial decisions.

      · Strategic problem solving: Able to take initiative to solve problems and resolve issues; is resourceful in finding required data and recommending solutions.

      · Financial analytical skills: highly proficient in budgetary, financial, and accounting principles and practices, including the ability to prepare, interpret and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow analyses.

      · Interpersonal/communication: strong interpersonal skills, including customer service orientation. The ability to interact with faculty, Medical Directors, senior Department leadership, trainees, and others in a knowledgeable, confident and professional manner.

      · Attention to detail: Commitment to accuracy and integrity of all data, reports, and communications.

      · Discretion and confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly; ability to skillfully handle issues of sensitive nature with respect to confidentiality.

      · Organization. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively, asking for direction when appropriate.

      · Capable of working cross-functionally. Ability to thrive and lead in a highly matrixed, collaborative, team-oriented environment. Ability to build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy and get work done through others

      · Communication. Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and facilitating teams of clinical leaders and senior managers

      · Flexibility. Flexible and adaptable within a complex, multi-site environment with changing requirements
