Job summary
South Leicestershire Medical Group are looking to welcome dispensary assistants into our busy practice, on a full or part time basis, who will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team.
The role will be mainly preparing drugs for dispensed patients as required alongside repeat prescriptions.
Working hours between 8.30am-6pm Monday to Friday. Fixed terms contract for 12 months.
Annual leave: 28 days including bank holidays. Pro Rata

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dispensary Assistant to join our Dispensary Team
We have a dispensary on site which offers some of our patients an invaluable service. We are looking for a team player that's great at communicating, has attention to detail, as well as being highly organised and passionate about helping people.
Our Dispensary Team are friendly, hard-working, dedicated professionals who put our patients first and strive to provide the highest quality of patient care. You'll be working at pace to dispense medications, using a range of bespoke platforms and systems, therefore being comfortable with technology is essential.

Job responsibilities
Issuing stock items and prepared prescriptions
Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements and banking
Processing and bundling prescriptions for the prescription pricing authority
Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage
Ensuring that drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
Ensuring that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperature control record/logbook
Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions. Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post as directed by the Doctors or pharmacist.
