Job summary
We are looking to recruit friendly and flexible Domestic Assistants to work within our team at Wansbeck General Hospital.
We have 5 posts available.
Hours of work for these posts will be between 7am and 7pm, Monday - Sunday and will include working a share of weekends and Bank Holiday dates as part of a rota.You will be required to either start a shift at 7amor start later in the day and finish at 7pm, working 5 days out of 7.

Main duties of the job
Our Domestics maintain the standard of cleanliness throughout our hospital, corporate and community settings by means of approved cleaning methods.
The role is to support high standards of care to our patients. You will need to embrace our trust values, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a flexible approach to your work.

Job responsibilities
Maintain the standard of cleanliness as specified throughout the designated work area by means of approved cleaning methods.
Able to complete a range of routine work procedures such as:
Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning.
Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present.
Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste from designated areas to disposal point.
Cleaning of sanitary areas, toilet, sinks, shower cubicles and staff changing areas.
Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges, shelves, curtain rails.
Cleaning of internal glass.
Taking down and putting up of curtains.
Scheduled cleaning of chairs.
Scheduled cleaning of carpets.
To wash walls (shoulder height) fitting and windows where required.
Use all equipment and materials in a correct and safe manner.
Report all faults queries or problems to the Ward Manager/Domestic Supervisor.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work areas.
Carry out any urgent spot cleaning and spillage.
Participate in training programmes relevant to efficiency, fire drills, hygiene, the requirements of the health and safety at Work regulations and other courses as deemed necessary for the efficient working of the department.
Any other duties as deemed appropriate.
