Job Description

Develop technical and validated gearbox solution to the projects such as medium and high speed gearbox systems accommodating ratio to generator speed and dealing with optimum torque density applied to wind turbine.
Drive rough analytical calculations on gears, shafts, keys, splines and fasteners inside a gearbox and dimensioning gearbox lubrication system aligned with Nacelle cooling system.
Perform rough structural calculations on main structures and bearings using analytical methods for pre-dimension and align with Structural team on detailed calculation.
Explore innovative mechanical geared concepts and complete complex gearbox designs.
Prepare requirement specifications and interface control document on critical components such as gearbox, distribution block and motor pumps aligned with purchase and test requirements.
Define manufacturing, assembly, installation specification in alignment with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Clarify design and interface requirements with all relevant stakeholders.
Prepare project deliverables such as: DFMEA, DRA (design risk assessment), CRS (component replacement strategy) among others.
Execute Design Reviews with stakeholders and balance important requirements and release of Engineering BoM.
Participate in prototype & pre-series assembly in workshop and implement lessons learned. Support production ramp up of the first units before series with physical attendance at the production plant.
Participate in prototype & pre-series installation at site locations supporting construction ramp up of the first units before series with physical attendance at the site location.
Knowledge and experience on “IEC 61400-4 Design requirements for wind turbine gearboxes” is a must.
Knowledge in GPS Geometrical Product Specification is a must.
Knowledge and experience on Structural Calculations will be an advantage.
Experience with NX Siemens PLM & Teamcenter Siemens PLM
Experience with Machinery directive 2006/42/EC will be an advantage.
Self-initiative, pro-active and problem solver that work independently and in teams.
Communication skills in English (orally and writing). High level.
