- Assist with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Safely provide transportation to appointments and activities
- Prepare and serve meals
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry tasks
- Assist with communication and socialization
- Assist with community integration and participation in recreational activities
- Document daily progress and behaviors of individuals
- Respond to medical emergencies or crisis situations
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid New York state driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication skills.
- No prior experience is required due to the training program we would provide.
- Must be willing to learn and apply new skills.

Why You'll Love It Here:
This FREE training program is a five week-long commitment and is comprised of both classroom instruction (In Henrietta area) and hands-on clinical experiences. Training will be 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday & Fridays will be scheduled based on shadowing. You will be hired as a DSP in training and will receive 17.00/hour to support you while you’re training. After successful completion, trainees will be assigned a full-time position as a DSP in our Residential, Respite or Day Habilitation programs and your salary will increase to $17.30 to $17.80, depending on your location.

Responsibilities
The support needs of people with disabilities are highly individualized. As a result, what a DSP does day-to-day varies based on the unique needs of the client.
In some roles, DSPs teach people with disabilities how to do things independently. In others, they complete tasks the individual cannot complete on their own.
