- Req#: 370081
- Strategy: Lay the groundwork of the sample strategy each year: Take the lead in assessing what worked and what didn’t from the previous year and how the plan should be adjusted go forward. This includes adjusting past strategies, evaluating new strategies and driving comp sales growth.
- Create the sampling calendar for the year and provide insight into generating new concepts and ways to grow sales for Ulta.com.
- Collaboration: Develop and maintain internal and external relationships, including Distribution Centers, eCommerce, Marketing, Merchandise Planning and Inventory, Stores and external vendor partners.
- Partner cross functionally to ensure all merchandising deadlines are met on all Ulta.com sampling initiatives. Key liaison between the distribution centers, MP&I, and merchants to track, troubleshoot and resolve any potential roadblocks.
- Responsible for direct communication with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to Ulta Beauty for all Beauty Bags.
- Analytics: Pulls, prepare and analyze reports from BW, SAP, or Merchandising systems as needed. Specific focus on sell-through of items to ensure we adjust exposure to the guest and provide the best guest experience.
- Provide the team with sales recaps for Beauty Bags and pivot marketing strategy as needed based on sell through of the programs.
- Responsible for compiling sampling details to share with Analytics team to assemble the data and translates data into insights for buyers and brands to strategize for future sampling plans.
- Own all Marketing exposures against sampling activities: This includes turnover of samples and wireframes and all proofing activities.
- Collaborate with manager and vendors on creative execution of all sampling bags and creative direction while negotiating bag costing with vendors to fit into FY budget plans.
- Works directly with pricing to set up all promotions for key sampling initiatives
- Works directly with Loyalty team to manage the evolving Member Love program including communication to management on brand/departments participating and creative direction on email layout
- Responsible for collection of vendor funding for DC bag builds through the MCOG contract process.
- Research trends as they relate to bags and themes for samplers while working to onboard new bag vendors that continue to elevate the program.
- Partner with manager for bag selection, cost negotiation and reconciliation of budgeted expenses
- Continuing Education: Complete training fundamental courses to gain more exposure within Merchandising as well as core Ulta Beauty.

- Bachelor’s Degree, 2-3yrs relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

- Excellent organizational skills with a strong eye for detail, and capable of multi-tasking
- Strong Microsoft Office skills with solid proficiency in usage of Excel. Working knowledge of SAP & Hana a plus

The pay range for this position is $57,300.00 - $74,450.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
