      This position is located at the Sacramento DMV Headquarters.

      Your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and advancement of the System and Software Engineering and Client Services within the organization. Your responsibilities encompass a wide array of tasks, ranging from System Administration and Software Integration to Development and Application Support. Your leadership is essential in steering the technical team towards the effective and uninterrupted maintenance of the Department's vital 24x7 infrastructure. In this impactful role, you will provide pivotal managerial and leadership support, shaping the trajectory of DMV's technological landscape. Your expertise will extend to managing DMV Enterprise Applications, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, and Cloud-based technologies. Additionally, you will act as technical project manager over IT initiatives, including new application deployments and integration with existing DMV systems and guide a proficient team of technology professionals, overseeing application management and maintenance services within our active and multifaceted IT organization. You'll be at the forefront of DMV's Information Systems Division, orchestrating support, maintenance, and deployment of critical systems. Your multifaceted responsibilities echo the resonance of DMV's mission, while your commitment to excellence propels us towards technological distinction.

      Working Conditions

      DMV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position has core work hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekends, long and/or irregular hours, after-hours work, holiday work, and overnight travel may be required. This position is required to carry a DMV issued cell phone and required to be reachable outside of normal business hours.

      Telework available. Telework requires California residency.

      This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818 . Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.

      The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a recognized leader in public service and has existed for over 100 years. The DMV is responsible for registering approximately 36 million vehicles in California, and serving 30 million driver license and identification card holders, collecting over $11 billion in annual revenue. The DMV also maintains and oversees many other functions.
