Job Description

- Actively build up, and maintain a large network with conference organisers and scientific committee members globally;
- Deliver competitive and profitable products in line with the open access proceedings strategy by assessing and developing publishing proposals on the basis of market feedback;
- Meet goals set by editorial management such as contracts signed and manuscripts handed over to production;
- Negotiate contract terms with customers in scientific and industrial communities;
- Coach Assistants/Editors to ensure that department targets and KPI’s are achieved;
- Implement, optimise and maintain editorial processes for the department;
- Review and develop publishing guidelines and ensure that publishing plans are implemented correctly;
- Work closely with global books team and other Springer Nature in-house teams to develop international projects/initiatives and provide local support;
- Initiate and/or approve product title lists for booth presentations;
- Business travel (domestic/international) as required;
- Excellent English language skills
- Master degree, or above, preferably with a science background;
- At least 2 years’ editorial experience within Academic publishing

Reporting Line
Report to Editorial Director, Atlantis Press
Acquires, and publishes high quality open access proceedings with the aim to become market leader within all major STM and HSS disciplines globally. Drives growth of own program and develops own portfolio as part of the strategically defined overall portfolio of Atlantis Press. Oversees and manages the editorial processes within the team and implements strategies to deliver upon the departmental objectives. Works in collaboration with the Editorial Director to review development opportunities for the OA proceedings program.
