The Education Unit oversees and assists staff in the design, development, maintenance and evaluation of the Otago Medical School MB ChB curriculum on Wellington campus. The Unit also supports staff professional development and represents the Wellington ALM programme on various subcommittees of the Medical Curriculum Committee.
The Role/Te Mahi
We are seeking to appoint a permanent, 0.4FTE (confirmation path) Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with expertise in higher education curriculum development, evaluation and quality improvement. The exact nature of the appointment will depend on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
The key focus of this role is to improve the learning and teaching environment for students through a positive and active relationship with teaching staff. In this role you will organise and facilitate staff professional development activities, give educational advice to inform curriculum development and support course evaluations to inform quality improvement. You will also develop your own programme of research.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Have a PhD degree or equivalent.
• Ideally have experience in higher education academic curriculum development and evaluation.
• Effectively work within a team, with the ability to work with staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds, at all levels.
• Experience in health professional education would be an advantage.
• Have relevant research experience and a corresponding publication record.
• Actively engage in research by applying for and receiving internal and external research funding.Further details/Pūroko
This is a part-time (0.4FTE), permanent position available from January 2024.
The appointment ranges for this role (pro rata) are Lecturer $90,902 to $107,300 per annum or Senior Lecturer $112,482 to $128,305 per annum.
