Duties and Responsibilities
1. * Advise students on general outbound program matters, such as program selection, application procedures, academic planning and funding opportunities.
2. * Assist with the application process for outbound students, ensuring timely and accurate processing of applications.
3. * Maintain accurate and confidential program records in compliance with program and university policies.
4. * Assist with pre-departure orientation sessions and workshops to prepare outbound students for their exchange experience, covering topics such as health and safety abroad, cultural adjustments, academic expectations, and travel logistics.
5. * Assist with re-entry sessions and workshops for returning outbound students to facilitate their transition, integrate their exchange experiences into their academic and personal development, and provide them with a platform to share their experiences and insights with the university and local community.
6. * Assist with the development of web content, marketing materials, and social media campaigns.
7. * Promote outbound programs to students, faculty, and staff through informational sessions, workshops, presentations, and other promotional events.
8. * Participate in committees and working groups focused on international student mobility.
9. * Stay informed about international education trends and best practices through professional development activities.
10. * Represent the university at relevant conferences and meetings.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in arts, social science, arts and humanities, science, education, business or related field and 1 year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for study abroad advising, academic advising, or student services at a higher education institution; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of student mobility demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with student mobility.
4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of student mobility.
5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, including use of productivity software (e.g., email, video conferencing, word processing, spreadsheet software, presentation software, file storage and sharing, etc.).
8. Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty and staff in both one-on-one as well as group presentation settings.
9. High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
10. Ability to multitask and manage complex projects independently and in team settings in a fast-paced environment.
11. Demonstrated commitment to working with individuals of diverse cultural, racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
12. Demonstrated skills displaying intercultural competency and experience working with an international population.
13. Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner. Requirement may be fulfilled by a valid Hawaii Driver's license (class 3), comparable driver's license, or other means of transportation, which meets position needs.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Master's degree in a relevant field.
2. Experience living, studying, or working abroad for at least one semester, preferably as part of a university exchange program.
3. Fluency in a second language.
4. Experience developing and leading presentations, orientations, workshops, activities, and related programming for university students.
5. Strong interest in utilizing new technology and digital platforms.
