      Summary

      A non-exempt medical office position that prepares patients for and conducts EEG studies used for diagnosis and treatment.

      Responsibilities

      • Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
      • Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
      • Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures policies that affect his/her specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
      • Prepare patient by gathering medical history and necessary information, able to explain testing.
      • Perform various neurology studies

      Education: High school graduation and completion of a training course or on-the-job training.

      Certification: Current R. EEGT certification through ABRET per state requirement. CPR Certification through AHA.

      Experience: Work requires a level knowledge of patient care methods, procedures and techniques. One year of experience performing EEG experience preferred.

      Qualifications

      Education:

      Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
      Preferred: Associate degree in physical or biological science

      Experience:

      Required: 1 year hospital experience

      Certifications:

      Required: BLS
      Preferred: REEGT

      Physical Demands:

      Responsibilities

      Performs portable and non-portable EEG testing modalities. Prepares patient for testing. Performs all necessary calibration procedures. Documents behaviors and other relevant information observed during testing. Performs all necessary computer functions relating to EEG ordering and result reporting.
