Job Description
- Req#: 120923
- Maintains, updates, verifies, distributes, and retrieve patient information in accordance with organization standards and regulatory requirements.
- Retrieves records from patient care areas; perform discharge reconciliation to ensure all records are retrieved from patient care areas in a timely manner; prep and scan medical information into the appropriate patient folder within PowerChart.
- Inform immediate supervisor of any missing discharges within 24 hours of discharge.
- Prepare records to be sent for outside scanning; enter discharge in Overlook Management System.
- May provide weekend rotation if needed at a hospital campus.
- Retrieve records from patient care areas; prep and scan medical documents into the correct event set within the appropriate encounter; assist customers.
- Assist with answering telephone calls and assist hospital staff with questions.
- Meets or exceed established productivity and quality standards.
- Performs quality review of every scanned document prior to image acceptance.
- Maintain a 98% accuracy rate for scanning, and indexing images. Works with other department peers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of data entry experience.
- One to two years of experience in Health Information Management in an acute care setting, experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

EeMR Assistant II Salary: $15.95- $23.93/hour, The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.
