      This position will be instrumental in coordinating and driving all aspects of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety including Fire) across all location across India. Person will also be responsible to comply and maintain all legal and statutory requirement applicable to business. Duties and responsibilities Design, implementing and updating EHS system and procedures across locations to enhance safety culture amongst employees. Reviewing the plan for internal/external Audits and monitoring the effectiveness of the same and timely closure of observations. Ensuring all time audit/ inspection readiness (statutory, internal & customer audits) of all sites from EHS and Fire point of view. Effective implementation and continual improvement of ISO and OHSAS standards along with BBS activities. Identifying training needs at business unit level, developing modules for addressing the gaps and effective training implementation. Develop, review, monitor and ensure Emergency response systems are in a state of readiness across all locations. Assist and advice on matters related reporting and investigation of incidents to facilitate preventive and remedial measures. Active contribution in HAZOP, Risk analysis and new projects start up. Monitoring and maintenance of required statutory permits and requirements of the business. Ensure timely renewal with close liasoning with government agencies. Create policy for crisis and disaster management by defining parameters and ensuring stringent training of all ERT teams across all location with all-time readiness. Respond to emergencies to prevent any loss to life & property and ensure speedy business continuity. Enforce provision of NBC and various fire prevention and life safety acts. Also track changes and ensure compliance concurrently. Identify key risks and action plan for mitigation. Roles & Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives to ensure the organization's compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. Align EHS goals with the overall business strategy. Policy Development: Establish and enforce policies and procedures to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Develop environmental management systems and protocols to minimize the organization's impact on the environment. Compliance Management: Stay updated on relevant local, national, and international regulations related to environmental, health, and safety. Ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance levels. Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop risk management strategies. Implement preventive measures and controls to mitigate workplace hazards. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement. Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, emergency response procedures, and environmental stewardship. Promote a safety-conscious culture and provide guidance on EHS best practices. Incident Management: Establish protocols for reporting and investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure timely reporting to senior leadership and regulatory agencies, as required. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential emergencies, such as fires, chemical spills, medical emergency, or natural disasters. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, (employees, physical security, HR, procurement, sustainability team) to foster a culture of EHS awareness and engagement. Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and local communities, to stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory updates. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track EHS performance. Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of EHS programs and initiatives. Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as required. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in EHS practices and systems. Implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in EHS to enhance organizational performance. Budget Management: Develop and manage the EHS department budget, including resource allocation, equipment procurement, and training expenses. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of EHS professionals. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Research and Analytical Skills: Strong research and analytical skills for assessing EHS risks, conducting data analysis, and developing evidence-based strategies Qualifications: Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) OR Lead auditor in ISO 14001 AND ISO 45001.
