- This position will play a critical role in designing, developing, and validating robust and efficient EV charging infrastructure. This includes charger systems, switchboards, and interfaces with utilities. The role will manage our dedicated electrical engineering team, interfacing with cross-functional departments, suppliers, and utilities.
- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of EV charging systems, including chargers, switchboards, and other related infrastructure.
- Manage the interface with utilities, coordinating energy supply requirements, and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Oversee the development of electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts related to charging infrastructure, promoting seamless integration with mechanical and software systems.
- Conduct design reviews and create comprehensive documentation to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams, suppliers, and utility companies to ensure successful integration of components.
- Develop and manage project schedules, identify potential risks, and effectively communicate them to all stakeholders.
- Mentor and manage a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, standards, and technologies to keep our charging systems at the forefront of the EV industry.
- PE License
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical systems design and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive experience in the design and implementation of EV charging systems and infrastructure, including knowledge of utility regulations and standards.
- Proven record of successful project management, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and applicable regulations and standards (IEEE, NEC, etc).
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to inspire and lead a team.
- Proficient with CAD tools and electrical engineering design software.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, and a creative and innovative approach to design and implementation.
- Experience in project finance or financial modeling of charging station projects is a plus.
- Experience with fleet planning is a plus.
- Familiarity with NREL, CEC, and other EV planning tools is a plus.
