  About This Position:

  The incumbent is tasked with ensuring proper and efficient maintenance and repair of all electrical systems, including roadway lighting systems, pump stations, facilities and generators. Assists in monitoring all reconstruction and major repair replacement activities completed by contract services. This includes making continual inspections of all systems and operational equipment

  Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
  
  Three years of experience or training in the electrical trade.

  Install, maintain, and repair single and three phase electrical services including stepdown transformers, service panels, and service connections. Maintain and repair various lighting systems including roadway lighting, decorative lighting, path lighting and landscaping lighting.

  Troubleshoot, install, and repair electric motors and related motors, starters, relays, and circuit breakers and controls on all of the District's facilities including hydraulic and water pump motors, traffic gate motors and Selsyn sending and receiving units as well as roadway lighting contactors.

  Service, troubleshoot, and repair control boards and control circuits including electrical speed control, relays including phase failure relays, limit switches, and electrical component by pass circuits.

  Troubles hot service and install reversing starters, under voltage relays, and mutt breakers, both single and three phase.

  Service and repair electrical facilities and grounds in District 42, including generators, transformers air conditioning units, and indoor lighting. Install conduit of all sizes and run wire in various sizes and voltage ratings in connection with electrical equipment in the District.

  Maybe required to perform other duties as necessary including but not limited to emergency/disaster support.

  
  Position-Specific Details:
  

  This position participates in the required DOTD structured training program and obtains additional training to facilitate the performance of required tasks.

  The incumbent should be able to perform duties many times without direct supervision and be knowledgeable enough to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise and take lead role as well as provide functional supervision over less experienced workers within the unit.
