This is a rare opportunity to embark on a rewarding career in the electroplating industry. We are seeking a dedicated Electroplating Assistant to join our team, prior experience is not essential as we are willing to provide training for the right candidate to develop your skills in various metal deposition and stripping processes, including chrome, cadmium, nickel, and silver. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. As you gain expertise, you will be fully prepared for potential advancement into an electroplating technician role should one become available.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the execution of metal deposition and stripping processes, such as chrome plating, cadmium plating, nickel plating, and silver plating.
Carry out anodic coating stripping and the application of alchromate and chromate conversion coatings.
Prepare components for electroplating by cleaning, masking, and applying pre-coating masking techniques.
Support the team in anodising processes, ensuring that all safety and operational guidelines are strictly followed.
Collaborate with senior staff to monitor equipment, maintain cleanliness, and ensure quality control standards are met.
Maintain accurate records of processes and materials used to comply with industry regulations and company policies.
Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge of electroplating processes and techniques.
Qualifications:
Higher or National 5 level grades preferred but not essential.
A willingness to learn and a proactive attitude towards safety and quality is essential.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an advantage but not mandatory.
Attention to Detail - Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail to identify deviations from specifications.
Problem-Solving - Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions effectively.
Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members.
Teamwork - Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
Willingness to work safely in various environments that may involve exposure to chemicals and metalworking processes.
Capability to lift and handle materials and components weighing up to 25 kg.
